An object resembling a helicopter part found near Itchapuram in Srikakulam district on Saturday.

Remnants of a helicopter were found in agricultural fields near Itchapuram-Kaviti on Saturday.

Srikakulam Superintendent of Police Navin Gulati said the department would seek the help of the Air Force and the Navy to gather details.

“There was no accident reported in the recent times in that particular area. So, we don’t need to worry. We will verify the facts with the support of experts,” Mr. Gulati added.

Dont want to sound dilettante but this doesnt look to be the tail rotor.
So which part is it exactly??
This doesn't look like a chopper part at all!

It's most probably part of an old rusted Lakshya PTA like this one...(Part marked in yellow).

But damned if I know for sure!

Thanks atleast now we know it is misreported.

But the front part of it looks non metallic in the picture published.Towed targets have non metallic parts??

Every thing with wings or fins does not have to belong to a helicopter

The Lakshya features a breakable nose cone. So it's possible that many parts are non metallic for keeping its weight down and increasing endurance.
