Configuring/Inducting smart bombs is that big deal for PAF.....??? should have been done with ease...Paf is a professional institution of elite cadre......
PAF has already integrated all available weapons with Thunder. The problem depicted is more political than actual.

Engine emits smoke, every time. It emits even more when ever it generate thrust for rapid maneuvers as we are seeing in air shows.
Smoke from engine mean, your engine efficiency is doubt ful and it's consumption rate is questionable. It is not only improperly burning carbon to form carbon di oxide but also emitting solid carbon particles which also greatly reduces the service life of engine and demand more maintenance.
U have already pointed out at the solution for fuel consumption as IFR. But we have to consider the facts too as PAF has extensively flown RD-93 onboard Thunder but have not encountered any problem with regards to efficiency/performance of the engine, nor the reliability of it. If the main operator wud not be happy with the engine then why wud they keep on ordering more and more of RD-93s?

When you are poor, you have to satisfy your self on what you have instead of what should you have.
Issues are there, PAF admits or not is something else.
We are looking for RD33 MK for good reason.

If performance hindering issues were there then we would not have seen this from PAF.

We have now commenced direct purchase of RD-93 from Russia. If we can buy that then whats stopping us from buying anything else? In any way we are paying. Plus how much cost difference can be with regards to RD-93 or any other engine of same category? Aviation is a serious business and there are Ifs and Buts there. There is no compromise on performance/relaibility. So either U fly or dnt. Bdw U must be aware of UTB. Right?

JF-17 is still evolving. It's a work in progress. We will see it's full potential in a decade time. Aircraft development is a long road into unknown. Have patience. It's not an iPhone. You can't have a new model rolled out every year.

Rafale waited 15 years for its first export order despite the diplomatic clout of France who also is an old player of the game. Doesn't mean Rafale is a bad aircraft or French did not promote it right.

Ok...
JFT must have been used extensively in COIN operations in FATA just to show the world that JFT is war proven.machine..........considering the fact that all the Potential customers of JFT are terror striken and looking for a reliable jet for reconnaissance and Precision strike roles.

It has been used for two main reasons. First was to validate the accuracy and deployment of configured weapons, secondly, to take off some load from F-16s. I am not sure if the videos of Thunders' strikes have been shown to potential customers like Nigeria etc.

will it be equipped with aesa or KLJ-7 radar

JFT block 1 and II are equipped with KLJ-7 radar
Block III will be equipped with chinese AESA radar probably...

why not from thales aesa or bae being considered by paf although these are not costly

Sir,
We are asking for F 16s for countering terrorism.........which means we dont have potent homegrown platform for COIN role.
which makes our claim of JFT , A viable light weight multirole jet ........questionable.....

you need to read the article of #Quwa in this regard.

We are asking for Block 52s in context of COIN operations and that too with US funding. U know what i am talking about. Nontheless ofcourse Block 52s are much more evolved and advanced than current Thunders we have.

@MastanKhan

China has so many programmes going on at the same time
J 20 /J31 -- J 11 / J 15 / J 16 --- J 10 and Finally JF 17

So naturally JF 17 developmental work will get delayed
