The Gurgaon has developed at very fast rate and adding hundreds / thousand cars to traffic every wk. It's not sustainable given the space constraints this city have.

The best way is to get the people out of their cars. This can be done only if alternate mode of transport which is faster, cheaper and comfortable. This can be achieved using POD Taxis

Feasibility point of view this project is do-able and budget required is also reasonable (Rs 5000 crore) which Haryana can afford. They are adopting public private partnership approach. This will boost the possibilities to get this project completed on time once launched.

I'm highly optimistic about this project. It's cheaper that metro and good alternative to growing traffic and pollution lvl in our cities.

There are a lot of "we should" to be done. Long term planning while developing infrastructure is non-existant here. We start making flyovers to cater for projected traffic figures for coming 50 years, take 5-6 years to complete it and withing 5-6 years, again reach at the same level, because the traffic had grown much quicker than projected.

Delhi metro is one of the better managed projects, it is more or less on time as far as implementation is concerned. quality is world class, every details being looked into for planning the routes, train frequency and all. But traffic projections?? already we face stampede like situations in Kashmiri gate, rajiv chowk and other major stations. what the hell???

And then, rather than looking for ways to correct these, politicians come up with such fanboy projects.

I agree to you. Current situation don't allow us to look into this kind of fancy untested options. Better to invest on already built-in infrastructures like metro, roads etc. We can get some expertise from Japan. The way they created the train infrastucture is awesome.

guys you have to realise :

GURGAON is not any other city - its a hub to generate $ , this is the place because of which indian economy is booming ( one of those few place ).

we have to provide elite transport system to lure the high end customers from west. show them some shine.

and pods will go inside the city, gurgaon is stuck in traffic not because of these roads but number of cars people drive. high rise growth and population dansity creat such issue , just like in new york , shanghai or tokyo.

solution is make people use public transport make it so good that people are bound to use it .
