A font page editorial in Kuwaiti paper Al Seyassah on Sunday criticised Pakistan for taking a neutral stance in the Yemen crisis, the UAE’s Gulf News reported.

“The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries do not need Pakistan. In fact, Pakistan needs them in various areas,” the editor-in-chief of the paper Ahmad al Jarallah wrote. “The GCC can defend its security, particularly following the alliance with other countries such as Jordan and Egypt.”

Pakistan had bowed to Iran, the editor went on to write, because it feared being defeated by the Iranian religious leadership.

“Pakistan needs to look carefully at the Iranian plots, especially its attempt to scare the world with its military capabilities.”

Accusing Pakistan of political blackmail, the editorial said that “the Pakistani stance that was adopted through the parliament’s decision to remain neutral has dropped the blackmail masks about protecting sacred Islamic sites and sharing a common destiny with Muslim countries.”

“The slogans were merely political blackmailing tools and Pakistan thought it could use them to feed its crisis-hit economy,” al Jarallah wrote.

“There is no doubt that the Pakistani leadership has made a mistake by betting on Iran, and even its fear from Tehran is not grounded in reality since the Iranian claims about military and missile capabilities and the nuclear programme are not more than a game,” al Jarallah said.

The criticism comes only days after UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Mohammad Gargash said that Pakistan’s decision to not join the Saudi-led coalition was “dangerous and unexpected”. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had responded to the UAE minister’s statements, terming them “unacceptable” and a “violation of all diplomatic norms”.

I think GCC should respect Pakistan Parliament decision. There is no need to keep on chiding Pakistan day in and day out.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to issue an ‘important’ statement on Pakistan’s stance on the Yemen conflict, sources privy to the development told The Express Tribune.

PM will issue an important statement on Yemen at 6:30pm on Tuesday,” sources said, adding that the premier’s statement will indirectly respond to a UAE minister’s and the Arab Leagues’ reservations regarding Pakistan’s decision to remain neutral in the Yemen conflict.

On Friday, Pakistan’s Parliament voted not to join the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen, dashing Riyadh’s hopes for powerful support from outside of the region in its fight to halt Houthi rebels, some of whom have links to Iran.

However, the government is yet to announce whether it will comply with the Parliament’s joint resolution or not.

The resolution is not binding on the government, however, sources said it will formulate the government’s strategy for the next phase on actual talks with Saudi Arabia’s authorities.

Further, the sources said the PM will take Saudi Arabia’s side on the Yemen issue and signal, indirectly, that Pakistan will meet Saudi Arabia’s demands.

Consultative meeting underway

A consultative meeting on the Yemen conflict is underway at the PM House.

The premier will issue a statement on the government’s stance on the conflict after the meeting, later in the evening today.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Army chief General Raheel Sharif, prime minister’s senior aide Sartaj Aziz, special assistant to the prime minister on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi and foreign secretary are attending the meeting being chaired by the prime minister.

Not surprised at all!!!
Somebody desperately needed some very experienced soldiers, but Pakistan didn't want its soldiers to become scape goats, which I think is a very sane decision. Every country has the right to take decisions which works in its favor.
But the bitter truth is, Pakistan 'll have to bear the consequences of this decision.
One thing is for sure that they can not deport all the Pakistanis in GCC. Lol
Did I just speak too much?

. . . .
The Gulf may have oil, but oil won't last forever. The US used Pakistan to fight the USSR. After the USSR, the US had no more use of Pakistan and sanctioned Pakistan. Beware of the US. The US has no friends, only serfs.

LOL. Arbeez don't need Pakistan? Ah well, want to see EACH AND EVERY arbee pee in their pants? Simple. Enter into a mutual protection deal with Iran. That news alone would in fact kill half of the Arab population within 24 hours. Problem solved.

Arbeez need to mind their own little worlds that they live in.

. . .
That's why I stay annoyed with these Arab folks.

Their incompetence surprises me. One day, I might snap and just order my military to invade GCC lands.

No wonder I am building up a military with Altay and Leopard A4 upgraded tanks, TFX-1 fifth generation fighter jet program, raising mechanized units with loads of armored vehicles and cavalry, buying new transport aircrafts, and so on.

I am just sick of all this bullsh!t.

Wait till 2030-40, I am going to take things into my own hands. My military is being raised. Be aware.

.
Nawaz Sharif is going down for towing the Arab line. His punishment will be severe. Very severe.
