Why should it have?
Because of more number of Gujarati speaking people than Marathi speaking people.

Why should it have?
I think Marathis outnumbered Gujaratis in Mumbai (Not by much).Because of more number of Gujarati speaking people than Marathi speaking people.
1) I think IT companies offshore to new players all the time. State should be able to expand with tax breaks etc.My uneducated guess is that the existing dominant players are too strong - NCR, Mumbai-Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. No other cluster has been able to replicate that kind of success. The big keep getting bigger because it is easy.
From observation, I can also say that Malayalis in IT industry are less common compared to people from other southern states. Maybe traditionally the preference for IT as a career is less in Kerala. The state also does not have a proliferation of engineering colleges like the rest of the country.
That's never been the case, although Gujaratis are a sizeable minority. Also, imagine Bombay being in a dry state.Because of more number of Gujarati speaking people than Marathi speaking people.
As per the graphic, you think UP is richer than Gujarat?
I can concede the point about Maharashtra but not Gujarat. I think Maharashtra's figures get skewed because of Mumbai and Pune. Interior Vidarbha and Marathwada regions are not that great. As per the graphic, you think UP is richer than Gujarat?
Is Nagpur not a big city as well? I've always thought that Maharashtra had more cities than other states in India.I can concede the point about Maharashtra but not Gujarat. But the map seems a bit off. E.g. Mizoram for some reason as 42% while neighbouring Tripura is at 1.2% and all other NE states are also doing poorly in ownership.

It is an ok city. Maharashtra is a big state. It needs more growth centres. Is Nagpur not a big city as well? I've always thought that Maharashtra had more cities than other states in India.
I cannot argue against your interpretation of the graphic. I can only doubt the veracity of the source data. Because anecdotal experience and conventional wisdom suggests that UP's income level is much lower than Gujarat. Many workers from UP move to other states in pursuit of employment. They do so because the wages in UP are very low. The same is not seen from Gujarat. It means income distribution in UP is better despite state being poorer in terms of GDP.
