According to the Mood of the Nation survey conducted by India Today, Modi has emerged as the best prime minister of all time, garnering 26 per cent of the votes.

Who is the best Prime Minister of India? Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi? No. For the people of the country, it is incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi who holds the pride of place in their hearts. According to the Mood of the Nation survey conducted by India Today, Modi has emerged as the best prime minister of all time, garnering 26 per cent of the votes. Just six votes behind is three-time Congress PM Indira Gandhi, while BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away last week, was voted as the third best prime minister.

Jawaharlal Nehru, who got only 10 per cent of the votes. JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda, who was the 11th PM of India, and PV Narasimha Rao were the least favoured prime minister. In all, four former prime ministers received just one per cent vote each — Deve Gowda, Rao, Chandrasekhar and VP Singh.

Across the religious divide, while Modi emerged as the favoured PM among Hindu voters, the Muslim community voted Indira Gandhi as their first choice leader. A total of 28 per cent Hindu voters backed Modi, while only 11 per cent Muslims voted for the BJP leader as PM. Gandhi was favoured by 26 per cent of Muslim voters.

Of the four broad regions in the country, Modi has been voted the most favoured PM in North and East India and is the joint first choice leader with Indira Gandhi in West India. However, Modi trails by three per cent in South India to Indira Gandhi, who received 26 per cent of the votes.

In a separate MOTN survey, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi received 46 per cent vote in response to a question about the best alternative to Modi as prime minister in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi is followed by West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, who secured a distant 8 per cent vote.

An earlier survey conducted by India Today-Karvy Insights shows that the BJP, which won the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 with a majority on its own, would fall short of the magic number if elections were conducted today. The survey reveals the NDA will manage to win only 281 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, while the Congress, along with its present allies, will secure only 122 seats

He deserves this place without any doubt. His popularity has never seen any down trend. It goes up and up. There is no other leader who is any match to him. A true petriot, 24x7 on job, no charge of corruption of any type, practiced ayachak vrata for many years, not taken a single holiday in 4and half year. When you compare any other leader with Modi, they will look like dwarf compared to him.

India under Modi will Float Its Largest Solar Tender by 15 December For 23,000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Projects In Leh, Ladakh.

Under Phase 1 of the project, 2,500 MW Solar PV Capacity will be set up in Kargil region and 5,000 MW in Leh district.

Meanwhile Evil Modi also constructed India's longest road-cum-rail bridge which is 4.94 kilometres long, connecting Assam with Arunachal Pradesh.

Nope, she was THE WORST.

Her only saving grace was she freed Bangladesh.

Its like the British, they Fcuked India, but they did put an end to islamic rule in India.

Muslim rule was going to end anyway. They were very week when british arrived and prevailed. Supposing that british empire never came here, the mughal rule was going to take 30 years max to end.

I like this quote of her “You can not shake hands with a clenched fist.” Though its obvious that she used these words for Pakistan. :D

About islamic rule ending in India without the british - Maybe, Maybe not.

Maybe Bangladesh would have been created with or without Indra Gandhi.

All that is speculation.

When the British finally "freed" bengal, there were wild celebrations in the Hindu community and those celebrations can still be seen in India and Bangladesh in the form of "Durga Pooja".

Also Mughal rule is not equal to islamic rule. For e.g. mughals did not rule bengal or kashmir or hyderabad etc.

People see him thru the prism of religion and divisive politics. Every party in india plays on politics, congress did that for a long time for muslims against hindus and sikhs. Congress even made policies that discriminated on the basis of religion, its allies did the same in UP as well.
What BJP did was eliminate religion from policies, all its policies apply to both hindu and muslims in similar way. Its just that its prone to make hindu comments, doesnt act on them, its the lower rung ministers who think this is a party to put hindus first. Im hindu, i dont wanna be put first, i dont feel like im being given any preference. I like it this way. Only if those c***** ministers could shut up.
On the economic front this govt has more balls than any other ever had, yes we could have done without DeMo, but GST and Bankruptcy code have been very good for business.

Indira gandhi was the worst indian Prime minister for Pakistan. Was she good for India too ?
@Nilgiri , @jamahir

I would have chosen Nehru and his grandson, Rajiv Gandhi ( Mrs. Indira Gandhi's son ).

Nehru initiated some progressiveness in India. As far as I know, unlike today's leaders he never made major visits to religious sites.

Rajiv Gandhi must be credited with making India a go-to place for computer-related service-providers ( the IT industry ).

As I said, he didn't make song-and-dance about such things unlike Modi's colleagues or Rahul Gandhi who spoke about himself being a Janeu-dhaari.

errr ..... back then there was no 24x7 media channel :cheesy:

Okay, I didn't know that.

@padamchen

His Father was a muslim. Jahangir Khan gandy.

His mother was a parsi (who converted) , but after his fathers death, he grew up in a parsi household.

But he empowered people like Sam Pitroda.

People like Sidhu and Sam Pitroda empower themselves. Pappu senior and pappu has no real role to play here except be a stepping stone for such people.
