I just found an article,I'll google translate it:

A Turkish TB2 Bayraktar drone is in Greece's possession and the way it acquired it is like out of a novel.

As the Live News show with Nikos Evangeliatos revealed, the Bayraktar was shot down by Libyans in 2020. Greek officers went to Benghazi in early July 2020, went to the area where the Turkish drone was shot down and inspected it on site.

But they didn't just stay there. In cooperation with the Libyans loyal to Marshal Haftar – who controls the Benghazi area, the Greek officers took some parts of the fuselage, the engine, but also – most importantly – the brain of the UAV. How did it get to Greece without the Turks taking it lightly?

So that the operation of transporting these parts to Greece would not attract the attention of the Turks, they were cut up and "hidden" in boxes that were loaded onto a fishing boat!

The fishing boat started from the port of Benghazi and arrived at a Greek port, where it was picked up by Greek officers and transferred to facilities "very close to Athens".

There the pieces were analyzed and studied by Greek technicians and engineers with the assistance of Israeli experts regarding the analysis of the data that his brain had.

The information gathered is now a part of the anti-drone technology developed by GEETHA. During the operation, the Greek armed forces maintained "radio silence" on the matter.

Late 2021 Live News reached out to a source very close to Marshal Khalifa Haftar for information.

"Are you asking if a downed Turkish TB2 Bayraktar drone was delivered to Greece?" said the source and when the journalist's answer was affirmative, the same source said: "The transfer of specific pieces and an on-site inspection of a drone was carried out in Benghazi and our experience of intercepting and shooting it down was transferred to the Hellenic Air Force. Our experience with Turkish air defense and Kirbi armored vehicles was also carried over. The General Staff of the Libyan Army gave an order for full military and intelligence cooperation with Greece and this was reinforced and to this end there was pressure from the leaders of the tribes of Cyrenaica".

The information was subsequently confirmed by sources of the Greek armed forces.

However,the MoD denies this:

"The Ministry of National Defense clarifies that the alleged information stating that a Turkish Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) came into the possession of Greek military personnel in Libya in 2020 lacks seriousness, is false and suspicious.

The Ministry of National Defense reserves all its legal rights regarding the dissemination of false news with a negative impact on National Defense and Security."

It's sad to see bold headlines that show things that don't exist as if they happened, but it's also fun in another way. Every time in the Greek media, there are a lot of news based on fantasy stories like this.

Because there is nothing to be revealed in the technical sense, or because there is not much talent to argue about in the industrial sense, these writers have advanced themselves more in story writing techniques.

Many TB-2s were shot down in 3 different battles. A system exported to about 30 countries from Africa to Asia. It is just a tactical-grade drone with no hidden or strategic direction. In its class, it can even be called the kalashnikov of drones, due to its worldwide prevalence. Maybe could talk about the fully autonomous take-off and landing capability, which is a first in this class. Russia has it too, probably also many other non-user countries. What makes TB-2s successful in the active battlefield is not just the aircraft itself. The flying platform itself is actually only a small part of this concept. Unfortunately, too many people who call themselves experts skip it because lack of knowledge about these topics.

Anyway... The part that made me laugh the most is the research of Greek engineers about what's inside its brain. :D In the source codes, it is written that Dolma, Yoghurt and Cacik are Turkish.

So do Armenians and Russian have it....

Greece is getting more pathetic... 😆

I think the part where the Ministry of Defence for pissed off about this, says it all. The story was presented as an "exclusive" on a TV program. While Libyans giving their friends pieces of TB2 to examine is not a far-fetched story, the TV program though is generally sensationalist.

I was sure you guys would laugh, just wanted to post this because as a rumor it's interesting.

I disagree with this part. It's not a frequent thing. There are some dumb media that have no idea about military and geopolitics and just try to get more clicks by having headlines just like the British tabloids do. But overall it's not common. I'd have to say Turkish articles by newspapers and media on the side of the AKP government are hilarious or ridiculous. Depends where you search.

If a Turk reads an article by a small-time Greek site that has nothing to do with military,he might find a clickbait headline. If he reads a conspiracy theory blog by weird dodekatheists,he might discover things like "hellenic secret superweapons that will destroy Turkey". If he goes to a religious site that has nothing to do with the military,he might find patriotic articles that have little military expertise.

Likewise,if a greek checks TRT world or the Daily Sabah or some nationalist site,he will read articles about how everything is Greece's fault, how all Turkish weapons are superior, how everything that president Erdoğan does is just and benevolent,he is a genius,he is s great leader etc.etc.

Depends where you look.

And to finish this with a conciliatory tone,
if you look at Communist media, everything sucks, all military sucks, all governments suck and everything is blamed on capitalism and racism and only a communist government will bring peace and prosperity to the people. And money. Lots of money 😂

only Turk name can motivate Greeks they grown up with the Turkish stories, they scared their childreen by saying Turks are coming, their history books, news, politicians speech everything full up with Turkish.

When they dream at bed Turks are their nightmare :sarcastic: they are something like a small childreen who fear from his serious father. So all those dreams and stories are normal because of their psychologic conditions.

Is that what you tell yourself every day to feel better?

The funny thing is the effect this tactical drone has on your psyche, nothing more.

We are NATO

If you had asked the ministry of defense, we could have given you the complete system more cheaper.

To be honest it doesn't terrify anyone here. It doesn't have any effect on our "psyche". Ignoring it as a threat though, would be stupid. Underestimating an opponent is always stupid.

So the TB2 is not ignored as a potential threat, its use on the battlefield is not underestimated, but it's not considered a kind of superweapon. That's why serious military analysts are writing against the various "football" or "gossip" or "religious" sites, that have been copying the story of the "TB2 capture" since yesterday, explaining how it's not some kind of "superweapon" and saying that all these irrelevant clickbait sites have suddenly become "experts" in military stuff.

Is that a big deal? Ppl are buying TB2s with donation money for ukraine. Im sure u can find alot of TB2s in ukraine, its not an alien technology.

I know. It's interesting as a story if it really happened, but like Ptisi said in their article: "Even then it would only be interesting on an academic level",you know,to check some of the parts out of curiosity. Nothing crazy.

In fact,Ptisi's article was very good. I'll show it to you. I wanted to show it to @dBSPL specifically:

Morning, lunchtime, social broadcasts of "everyday", news bulletins and... "news" and of course the army of analysts of the Greek internet entered the dance of "valid information" about the "superplane" to which... Greece gained access, with only a few (unfortunately) exceptions of some dissenting voices who tried to put things in perspective and got lost in the trenches.

Without even getting into the essence of whether the "news" is verified or not (there is already a denial, but this too may be... "necessary" to be done in such cases), the UCAV Baykar Bayraktar TB2 are not "super weapons" and the access to whatever technology they have may be marginally useful but certainly not critical.

"Superweapon" on this side of the Aegean, it was done by various "football defense analysts" who, for the sake of clicks and of course the related income, since they "discovered" them 2-3 years ago, Monday-Tuesday-Friday they raise them to the highest Turkish threat and Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday they drop them "like flies from the Russian air defense in Ukraine".

First of all, in the basic principles followed by all Unmanned Aircraft, from the simplest to the most sophisticated and complex, there are design provisions so that their possible ending up in adversary hands does not offer essential information and benefits.

This of course also applies to the Bayraktar TB2, which is known to be based on commercially sourced parts and assemblies, the technology of which is by no means unknown or expensive to acquire.

Of course, it depends on the state of the "debris" you are accessing. The example of Iran is tangible, which in the previous decade managed to acquire an American RQ-170 Sentinel intact (by trapping it or... by luck) and then "copied" it (through reverse engineering) and presented its own version. The Bayraktar TB2s do not of course belong to this category of… “loots”.

The possible benefits of an intact or very good condition Turkish UCAV could be access to its radio link infrastructure, which again is more or less known, or to the flight control computer, albeit for academic purposes only.

The earlier versions of the aircraft had Canadian Rotax engines (the same used in hovercraft and ultralights) and a Wescam MX-15D electro-optical assembly, assemblies which were replaced by the Turkish-sourced TEI PD170 and Aselsan's CATS FLIR.

Accessing them, if in sufficiently good condition, might have had some meaning but again nothing more than curiosity satisfaction.

More useful would be access to some of its munitions (MAM-C, MAM-L, L-UMTAS) that could "verify" (conditionally) the Turkish claims.

All of the above does not mean that the Bayraktar TB2 (and especially the larger Turkish UCAV) do not pose a threat and indeed a significant one for the Greek armed forces, because the fact of the commercial, relatively simple technology they incorporate is one thing and the fact of the operational their value on the battlefield and the great challenges to the air defense of the defenders against them.

In addition, we will not go into the synopsis scenario that it sounds like new provocations by the Turks are underway with the news of Bayraktar in the context of Ankara's claims about the preparation of aggressive action by Greece against Turkey

But in any case - and to use the now well-known expression - "no more milking of the Bayraktar cow"! We have more serious things to worry about.
