One of the reasons I think it didn't end in thousands years is because of feudalism, which clearly separated us in several classes.
Now, things have changed.We are no longer separated in different classes from our birth.Common people now thinks for themselves.The son of a begger has as many rights as the son of a businessman or bureaucrat.On paper at least.That's more than what they had in the recent past.
So, it's not hopeless to think that given some time, things will improve further & this stupid system will be gone & true equality will exist for every person in the society.

Actually, my comment was about caste system/superiority not getting ended in last 1000 years.
Though, I must admit that it's nowhere near Hindu caste system but still 1000 years is long time to wipe it completely.
Many previous stupid customs/traditions still exist like dowry, expensive weddings etc.
All of them need to go.

Yes, Hasina Bibi and her family members excluding Mujib were spending a good life under the good protection of the PA in Dhaka in 1971. Kamal, her brother was in India, though. No harm touched any of them.

This is the same story with Khaleda Bibi and her family excluding Zia. No harm reached them under PA protection in the Dhaka Cantonment in 1971.

In the first phase, the government on Sunday published a list of 10,789 Razakars who collaborated with the Pakistani occupation forces during the War of Liberation in 1971.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque released the list at a press briefing at his ministry, UNB reports.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the number of genuine freedom fighters is not more than 210,000.

He said many records were removed when the anti-liberation forces, including Jamaat-e-Islami, were in power.

Completely agree. The three million figure is completely absurd. And given the lack of use of millions in South Asia, it is a very reasonable assumption to make that there was a misunderstanding which was never verified for political agenda.

No actually he many times tried to say that admirers of Hasina are Indian dalal and half Muslim, and BNP folks are true Muslims , that's why I said this , no problem with him or any one . It was just friendly banter .

I know this thread has exceeded five pages but I wanted to clear up the reason for publishing the Razakar list in Bangladesh by the Govt.

There are a lot of BNP folks (some sons and descendants of Razakars and Jamatis) that have joined AL in the last five years. AL wants to clean up their rosters of these folks (some of them quite wealthy). Hence the list.

These activities are part of the general cleanup of AL recently, which includes recent mass flushing and purges of the youth group of AL (Jubo-League) who have been involved in Casino scandal and re-in-statement of the entire top leadership of Jubo-League by Mujib's Nephew's son Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash (a college professor and a generally well regarded academician), who was not involved in politics prior, and is known as an honest person.

AL and Hasina are just trying to clean house. This has less to do with Jamat than with internal cleanup of AL.
