Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid cast fresh doubts on Sunday on the possibility of the government resuming dialogue with Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) less than 24 hours before the opposition party begins its Faisalabad shutdown plan.

Senator Rashid argued that since the government had already written a letter to the Supreme Court (SC) to form a judicial commission to audit the May 2013 elections and investigate rigging charges there was nothing left to discuss with the PTI.

“The government on 13 August wrote a letter to the Supreme Court to form a judicial commission to probe PTI’s allegation of rigging in the previous election. Now what issues remain for the government to talk with the PTI?” questioned Senator Rashid.

According to him, Imran Khan’s attitude has left no option for the government to resume talks with the PTI. At his press conference on Sunday, Imran announced that he would not accept the judicial commission’s report if he finds it against his wishes.

“What is the need for a judicial commission now that the PTI chief has announced that he won’t not accept any result that goes against his party?” he asked. He claimed that if Imran Khan is serious to have to an inquiry from a judicial commission then he has “to first announce cancellation of all his plans and end his sit-in in Islamabad”.

Senator Rashid also appeared to lay out the ground rules for the talks. Imran should announce that his party will neither stage a sit-in nor take out rallies in the country, but instead sit at the negotiating table”.

He pointed out that previously Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had led the government’s body for talks but Imran called back his team. “It is Imran who should change his attitude.”

Moreover, PM Nawaz Sharif, who returned from his UK visit Saturday night, held a meeting with the finance minister and other senior party leaders. They suggested that the government should start talks with the PTI after consultations with the parliamentary leaders of various political parties in the National Assembly.

He said that Imran’s attempt to lock down Faisalabad is bound to fail, citing how his earlier plans had flopped. Faisalabad, according to him, will remain open on December 8 and function normally.

--------------- Its worth mentioning that Imran had said a few months ago that it'll no longer negotiate with the gov't. Not sure why Imran is begging the gov't for talks still.

First he said "He will not negotiate at any cost!" Then he says "Won't negotiate until Nawaz resigns." Then he says "Nawaz tried to buy me, won't negotiate until he resigns." This goes on and on, many more videos and proof.

As expected, PMLN will come up with stupid excuses to avoid a fair audit of last year's rigged election results.
And PMLN will conveniently and hypocritically ignore the times they have engaged in protests, shut-downs, and so on.

Cite a source, and let us examine the context of that.

Edit: So you changed the original post to provide sources. OK.

The both leaders making .....tiya the entire nation.

When Imran Khan announced shutdown on 4 December in Lahore PMLN said they will resume talks on 6. Than pti changed Lahore dates and pmln said we will resume talks after faisalabad ...

Before imran Khan dropped demand of PM resign pmln said we are agree on 5 points but not PM resignation . That lie is also exposed.

From day 1 i am saying pmln is playing games and delaying tactics. Why would they agree on election audit which they have avoided for almost 2 year.. Election audit will expose them.

Imran has always said he has no interest in negotiation. I put so many evidence in #2 post, but obviously Hazart Imran is the truth and he can never lie. All videos are fake.

But if you agree they're real, why is your lunatic leader wanting negotiation with corrupt gov't? Didn't he say "no more negotiations?" But no! Gotta pin all blame on PML. They're liars.

Oh and FYI, Ishaq Dar did say that Imran *must* delay the dates indefinitely until negotiations can be worked out. But imran is adamant in holding the shut down. Furthermore, if you were able to read the news, it is said "Imran will not accept any verdict that goes against it," which means, there is little the gov't can do.

Also in your face

"Another change that the party announced relates to the strike call in Lahore, whose date has been changed from December 4 to December 15 due to ‘unspecified reasons’. However, the party has made no change in its plan for similar strikes in Faisalabad and Karachi. “We have remained peaceful throughout our ongoing sit-in and will remain peaceful in the future as well,” Qureshi said."

Unspecified reasons likely to be no support from traders etc. It's also worth mentioning that negotiations don't happen in one day. What if negotiations go on for 10 days, will PTI still pursue the shut down? This is why Ishaq Dar said that shut down must be off from table until negotiations can be worked out, and once they're successful or failed, PTI can do its shut down at a later date.

Why i avoid to talk to u. U lie to match and twist facts as u dont know. U know very well but u do as ur masters tell u to.

Now how is possible to talk with ppl like u ? Its not more than 6-8 days PTI changed date since on 4.12 there was a jalsa of suni ethad i guess who asked PTI to change dates. Go and check PTI press release

PMLN was never interested and we all know since they dont want world to see there crimes. Its simple OPEN BAGS AND RECOUNT

What different statements? Or you don't know how to read? Typical potian, can't go against your supreme leader Imran.

Imran said he does not want to negotiate and now he's begging for it.

well some stupids thinks that government wanted to talk to solve issue. This has been done prior to 14 august. just a day before protest PM came on tv and call for talks . he was sleeping for 14 months. now they did the same 2 days before protest they started talks . U can fool patwaris like @WishLivePak but not us . why cant they start negociation 10 days earliers so no protest would have happen .

:rolleyes1:This whole post is based on confusion. Several layers of false assumption need to be exposed.

Imran Khan is not begging for anything; he has made a demand (at the 30th November meeting) backed up by a credible threat, a threat being carried out on the streets of Faisalabad as we speak, (and for which the PMLN have deployed thousands of policemen, it is reported, so they're worried about it).

And Imran Khan's demand was not for talks (though he is willing to have talks); the demand was for the government to set up the judicial commission that they had agreed with PTI; the demand was not "let's have talks again".

This whole issue of talks is PMLN distraction; they are using it to distract people's attention away from the actual demand, for the government to start a judicial commission with a JIT.

Here is the relevant part of the speech from Nov. 30th. It's clear enough to speak for itself, and just listening to this should end this discussion.

Now what is the problem?

What different statements? Or you don't know how to read? Typical potian, can't go against your supreme leader Imran.

No he is not.
