This is just their starter course, the main dish is lizard with camel urine.

Wether its halal or not (still debated by ulama), i still wont eat it! Cacing kawat (hairworm) usually lives in there

That's a mantis, not grasshopper. "Belalang", not " belalang sembah". The vast majority of Japanese aren't Muslims, yet they do eat grasshoppers.

If you go with imam hanafi then you will see a different opinion

how? Please do indulge in some details.

I thought Imam Hanifa was the most broad minded jurist in his interpretation of fiqh.

So cacing kawat doesnt lives inside it? Well tbh i would prefer lele with sambel instead of that, if thats your preference its up to you then, but i still wont eat it even though its declared halal by MUI for real, just really isnt my type of dishes :yahoo:

We should open more of this kind of duscussion thread, its mostly peaceful and discussed with cool head, also an interesting topic too! Aside from a couple of negative comments, that of course will always present at any kind of threads, even the most peaceful one.
Keep it up.

I'd stayed away from fresh water fishes if possible, including your preferrances, catfish. AFAIK they're pretty much bottom feeders, eating pretty much anything in their waters. The waters in troical area differs than those in the middle east or elsewhere, so i dont want to take my chances had the freshwater fishes here were clean to be consumed or free from parasites an (that "cacing kawat" lives in freshwater areas too, just saying). I'd take any saltwater/ocean goods than any freshwaters any day, just because most things from the seas are Halal. If it's Halal, it's safe.

Now I can see why LOCUSTS are running away from Saudi in masses.
we kill them here with chimerical poisons to do not allow them to Spawn.
