Let's not pick and choose, Maybe you don't agree that does not mean Thread should be closed, you did read part of my post "I might not necessarily agree to what Germany did in WWII

However I will not post Poland's Official report people may search for it on the Internet easily, perhaps you did read it already and might not agree to it but that is your opinion. I knew someone would retaliate it was expected lets not remind what British did in Africa or US did through out WWII and at the end of war in Dresden or what Japanese did to China again your opinion could be different.
Do you have relatives that were actually IN WW2? My parents were. A grandfather kept as hostage, for summary execution in case of resistance attack. An uncle with bullets holes in his tunique (i.e. near misses) from AFTER the may 5 1945 armistice. An aunt smuggling rationing cards. A father and uncle having to go into hiding to avoid being grabbed on the street and shipped to Germany as slave labor. An uncle evading to England via Sweden. Holocaust and mass extermination not just of jews in death camps, with gas chambers as one of the killing means is well documented. I >spit< in contempt on any post-war revisionists and deniers. Would throw my shoes.

I don't care what you do or do not agree to. Your post is offensive by its very nature. GO AND BE ASHAMED .

Soviet Civilians
In 1995 a paper published by M. V. Philimoshin at the Russian Academy of Science put the civilian death toll in the regions occupied by Germany at 13.7 million. Philimoshin cited sources from the Soviet era to support his figures, he used the terms "genocide" and "premeditated extermination" when referring to the deaths of 7.4 million civilians in the occupied USSR caused by the direct, intentional actions of violence. Civilians killed in reprisals during the Soviet partisan war account for a major part of the huge toll. The report of Philimoshin lists the deaths of civilian forced laborers in Germany totaling 2,164,313. G. I. Krivosheev in the report on military casualties gives a total of 1,103,300 dead POWs. The total of these two figures is 3,267,613, which is in close agreement with estimates by western historians of about 3 million deaths of prisoners in German captivity. In the occupied regions Nazi Germany had a policy of forced confiscation of food that resulted in the famine deaths of an estimated 6% of the population, 4.1 million persons.
Soviet civilian war dead estimated by Russian Academy of Science
Deaths caused by the result of direct, intentional actions of violence7,420,379
Deaths of forced laborers in Germany2,164,313
Deaths due to famine and disease in the occupied regions4,100,000
Total13,684,692

Since when Turks are European ? :taz:

They are a part of NATO and control the largest city on mainland Europe (Istanbul) which has massive history behind it...

So they are part of "Europe" .

Remember, this is all from geopolitical point of view.

Culturally, Turks have their own unique culture that has aspects of many surrounding cultures...

Anyways, Turkey is the only exciting thing in Europe right now. Growing economy, dynamic middle-class, in the midst of social transformation, military modernization program going on at decent pace, mega infrastructure projects like linking two seas etc are being worked out and Istanbul is getting more and more tourists every year..Turkey is "appearing" on global map and that's exciting to see.

Rest is dull and boring...Scotland having vote to separate from UK, Germans are still busy in building themselves and keeping a low-profile...France is irrelevant anyways and its luster fading faster than moonlight...and rest of Europe? Who even knows about it?

Yeah, except Ukranian-Russia border. That's an exciting place now a days

You know, you should start a thread here with evidences that rationally/logically/scientifically debunk the holocaust deniers major claims one by one..

@500 @Natan and other Israeli posters should chip in too...

We'll make that a sticky thread...

Israelis/Jewish friends, atleast your presencenhere will mean something then...

The best thing to focus on is new tech and R&D. There are plenty of NATO countries that can supply manpower.

I completely agree with you on this peter. We in Europe still don't spend enough on R&D , Just looking at how much the U.S spends on R&D each year makes the E.U look like midgets.

This is one reason we lack so much behind , that's why the U.S comes every year with new weapons systems and has the best tech companies in the world. While we just try and follow/copy them
We do have the potential to match the U.S or at least be close to them. But due to lack of coordination, political will and focus we still lag behind.
Hopefully the Ukraine issue will help us wake up and assume responsibilities ourselves than leaving everything to the U.S

Penguin sorry to know about your relatives, Regardless I have my opinion whether someone agrees to it or not, I did not say or agree to everything Germany might have done good in WWII so you may need to revisit your perception of my post I still will not post the report it is widely available on Internet Polish Official Report ppl can check it, may be you should take it with them not me. I'm here and I am not ashamed I have not penned down anything offensive my argument is around the Report you may trash the report neither did I ever say I enjoyed whatever according to some audience happened to those people.

I dont think we should increase number of soldiers. Soldiers dont win wars anymore. I think we should invest more into new equipment.
No Soldiers always will be important and you need at least an Army off 100000 at least

At the end of the Cold War the German Army (Bundesheer: west Germany) fielded 12 divisions with 38 brigades: six Panzer (armoured), four Panzergrenadier (mechanized), one Fallschirmjäger (airborne), and one Gebirgsjäger (alpine) division. After 1990, the Heer absorbed the army of East Germany, a part of the Nationale Volksarmee. In the aftermath of the merger, the German Army consisted of four Corps (including IV Corps at Potsdam in the former DDR) with a manpower of 360,000 men. It was continuously downsized from this point. The 2001 onwards restructuring of the German Army saw it move to a seven division structure – 5 mechanized (each with two mechanized brigades), 1 special forces, and one airmobile. A total of 62,279 soldiers are currently (February 2013) on active service in the German Army.[1] However the quite unique German military branches of the Streitkräftebasis and the Zentraler Sanitätsdienst consisting to a significant degree of army soldiers, so that there are all in all about 115,000 men and women in the Bundeswehr wearing an army uniform.

The German Army has operated about 2,350 Leopard 2s of all versions. Today, it fields just 225 Leo IIA6s....

4th reich .... blablabla

They could up the spending a bit but its so unnecessary, all of our countries spending on armaments simply for them to be obsolete in 20 years with little service and sold to countries like Oman. Build if its required, which it isnt, a strong Germany/France/UK though is only going to be stopped by yanks/chinks.

. .
Are they again going to invade France and UK?

I think you missed the last 60 years. We have the EU. Why invade something that you already form a unity with?

As for soldiers...i dont believe in soldoers. I believe in technology.
