Germans stage demonstration against US in Berlin
Around 500 people participated in an anti-US demonstration in the capital, Berlin, staged by Together for Germany organization, on May 9, 2015.
People in Germany have staged an anti-US rally in the capital, Berlin, to condemn Washington's propagation of insecurity across the globe.
Approximately 500 people participated in the anti-US demonstration in the capital, staged by Together for Germany organization, on Saturday.
Delivering a speech during the demonstration, Jurgen Elsasser, a leading activist, accused the US of propagating insecurity and devastation in the world, and, as a result, forcing many people to flee their countries.
He said Germany is highly influenced by Washington’s policies.
Germany is still an "occupied country," a province of the US and a "military colony of the Americans," the activist added.
The anti-US event sparked reactions as a group of rival protesters tried to interrupt it. The German police, however, prevented them from getting close to the site of the anti-US gathering .
Together for Germany is an organization with the primary stated policy of preserving German culture.
