Around 500 people participated in an anti-US demonstration in the capital, Berlin, staged by Together for Germany organization, on May 9, 2015.

People in Germany have staged an anti-US rally in the capital, Berlin, to condemn Washington's propagation of insecurity across the globe.

Approximately 500 people participated in the anti-US demonstration in the capital, staged by Together for Germany organization, on Saturday.

Delivering a speech during the demonstration, Jurgen Elsasser, a leading activist, accused the US of propagating insecurity and devastation in the world, and, as a result, forcing many people to flee their countries.

He said Germany is highly influenced by Washington’s policies.

Germany is still an "occupied country," a province of the US and a "military colony of the Americans," the activist added.

The anti-US event sparked reactions as a group of rival protesters tried to interrupt it. The German police, however, prevented them from getting close to the site of the anti-US gathering .

Together for Germany is an organization with the primary stated policy of preserving German culture.
