German Ambassador acknowledges Pak Army’s achievements

RAWALPINDI: German Ambassador to Pakistan, Ina Lepel called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Friday.

The statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations said, matters of mutual interest including regional security issues came under discussion during the meeting.

The German Ambassador acknowledged Pakistan Army's achievements in fight against terrorism and continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The Ambassador met the Chief of Army Staff - an Army which has been waging a 'war against terror' - of course she's going to praise it. She's not going to meet the Pakistani COAS and tell him - 'oi, you guys are f-ing shit and your prolonged campaign against terrorists is a complete failure'

When she visits the PM or President - similarly she'll praise the government for it's achievements with respect to this issue.

This really is basic diplomacy and courtesy, truth be told...I'm not even sure why it's newsworthy.

What ambassador says to the country they have been appointed does not seen as the policy of a country, normally no ambassador tell negative to that country, they have been appointed, unless in a diplomatic crisis.
