I think, army won't get much power than what they have today.
Soldiers in India are loyal to India & democracy not any people sitting on any post.

oh god.. soldiers are pawns, they are loyal to regiments.. ask any armyman they will tell you.. the idea of nation is far beyond the understanding of soldier.. usually semi literate farmer... all they know is order, you can motivate them to do anything and they will think its good for country.

Yeah....that thing pretty much died post 1947 when Field Marshal Cariappa not only decided but made sure that army will serve under civilian leadership and not the other way around.

As for the Gen. V.K. Singh "episode", Shekhar Gupta is still running around with egg on his face, unable to prove jackshit. Only a fool will mobilize a light infantry brigade to capture Delhi at time when you have nation on high alert due to Republic day which also includes, multiple companies of CAPFs, Delhi Police, and the main hub of NSG.

Even if you want to topple the govt., 22 division, Meerut would be a much safer bet as they have the logistics and firepower to do so.

This idiot will doom the Indian Military. RAN 40L radars, 127mm guns which he himself allowed will be banned setting ack crucial naval projects for more than 1-2 years.

At first I though he was a practical guy but he is now behaving as a second Anthony. No sensible country will cancel deals like this.
