General election 2019: Labour pledges free broadband for all

I would like to have NHS type service in the US but will never happen
my uncle (mom's brother) is a practising doctor in the US and when he visited here to meet his Uni friends who he studied with in Pakistan and his friends practise medicine here in UK. My uncle was shocked at the kind of issues that he faces in the US, they just don't exist here in the UK.

I still remember him saying its communist! My response, well go practise over there :sarcastic::sarcastic:

.
Sounds like you got a grudge against this "overbloated" govt agency why no do the "good ole" murican way of cutting it
Actually I don't have a grudge against NHS. I think NHS is one of the greatest institutions to have ever been founded. Noble in it's very DNA. Sure it needs improving and has problems like any entity this big. I would never want UK to go down the road where USA is. Never.

Don't you think the Tories are to blame for the state the NHS is currently in ? Budget cuts and underfunding doesn't help to cope either with the increasing population or the fact that the population is ageing and that new methods of care are getting more and more expensive. Talking about immigrants,I read 13% of the NHS staff wasn't British.

Its a tough choice you either vote for crazy Commie or the Tories who want to sell the NHS to greedy yankees.

I like the fact that the British people are very attached to the NHS,given almost every public service was privatized in the UK,it is the last rampart of the welfare state. If they weren't attached to it,it would have been privatized a long time ago.

Typical tactics from governments. Destroy a public service (bad management, budget cuts...) and promote how it would be better if privatized and sold to private entities. Classic. That's how you slowly but surely destroy a welfare state.

The NHS is the best thing that ever happened to UK, if I didn't have a Kashmir flag on my avatar next choice would be the NHS. In the US you can expect to pay at least 18,000 USD just for a simple child birth (If you were uninsured).. And still pay at least a good portion of that even if you were insured.. I prefer communist Cuba over capitalist america, also take into account that the life expectancy in Cuba is higher than America* (and that's with being sanctioned for decades). Making a profit of human suffering is disgusting..

LONG LIVE THE NHS!

I have an understanding by speaking to the yanks that I have met. They just don't get the concept of NHS and how do you go to the hospital and not get left with bills that you can't payback for years. Funny thing is I see alot of your countrymen saying that there are waiting lines at the hospital with national health system! There aren't waiting lines at your hospitals? Some of the stories I have heard about what goes on there, I just quote my friend "keep it over there".

That is due to the fact that you are quoting a real briton secretly working as a MI6 agent in France ! :D

Well not so secret now!

NHS has very wide support across the political lines. I don't think any government would dare cut it down. The simple fact is there is no efficient alternative. As a principle I think society should have responsibility to look after the weak, infirm and needy. To my eyes this is what humanity is all about. People talk about religion. Nothing is more noble then the idea that we are all responsible for those less fortunate. I would rather pay few pounds extra as tax to look after those who are less fortunate. It helps us all. When a society does that it creates balance and removes extreme inequity which leads to a more stable and peaceful society. I think one of the reasons we have less crazy crimes in UK and France compared to USA is because as societies we are more caring of those of us on the margins.

I have heard that health care in France is exceptional. In fact I have seen France being cited as a example for improving NHS. What insight can you give on the system in France? Happy with it?

That's how you slowly but surely destroy a welfare state.

How you really do it is let in a flood of people that didnt pay into it.....and only take out of it....just like with every other welfare item....and then they and certain "vanilla-status quo" politicians start a symbiotic relationship on it.

Big welfare and Big govt should only be a topic of conversation when you first have strict control of borders and population flow into your country.

Working class would suffer the most if NHS was sold to the yankees however I can think of some pros if NHS was privatised it would result in rise of wages which could bring back the doctors and nurses that left the system to come back and would lift the pressure off current understaffed hospitals.

Labour seems to think there is an endless supply of money in the UK, like it grows on trees.

Look at the record of the previous Labour administration which spent like drunks on a nightout and ran up the nations debt.

They will also open the floodgates to immigration, like there is an endless supply of resources to accomodate them.

Many people deny, and only a few understand. The trends of poverty, violence and economic depression are not just a freak event; they are the premonitions to an outcome predicted a hundred years before: to the Decline of the West and its slow death. Many ten of thousands every year come to the West. They see it as the pinnacle of civilisation, the perfect society, the material paradise.

Many a decades ago my forefathers thought the same; they abandoned their ancestral villages and left on a no returns flight to then UK. Instead of living in a big city or a comfy suburb, they chose a small Lancashire mill town. My family is still living there but now instead of being mainly white, it is 80% Pakistani. All the whites and Chinese are leaving, with only Pakistani Italians coming in. The main ‘super’ school has about 500 in one year. Only 20 are whites. The students spend less time getting educated, but more time swearing at the teachers in Punjabi. The children there spend more time in the madrassas than in the classroom. The amount of cousin marriages are so high, the hospitals cannot cope with the amount of disabled babies. What my family came for was an illusion; a fantasy in the utmost sense. The life of man is tragic, he toiled and worked so hard, so earnestly to create a utopia, but to only find it populated in horrors.

I am at the local park. There are dozens of tents littering the place. I see a homeless woman, injecting herself. The needles drop to the floor.

I am in the city centre. The streets are dark, the back alleys smell. The body lies on the floor. Stabbed multiple times. I do not touch him, I walk away.

I am at school. They talk of sex and drugs. I do not here them. Only their souls crying “No more”. I weep with them.

Suffering is everywhere. It is part of us. No free broadband or nice car will change that. But to believe our world is just black and white is wrong; for we are beyond just good and evil. The imperfections of our species may blot out any hopes of universal peace, but to make the effort on ourselves is still feasible. To be content with what you have, just those ‘200 acres’ that you own. This is enough, however not many people realise this.

For too long now, the truth has been obscured to me. But now I see that it was right in front of me the whole time. Now I know that it is time to go home...
