How horrid that the killing of children was thought necessary before such an operation could take place; it highlights a very high threshhold for terrorist violence in Pakistan.

As I said, the nation was demoralized and divided. On the one hand, people thought the best solution was to negotiate for peace, others thought that we need to keep hammering them into submission. This meant that the military had to walk a fine line in ensuring that enough units were available for the protection of towns and cities, and enough units could be sent out for operations.

As I said, that attack was the turning point. People realized that these jihadists were no longer fighting for a cause or in the name of religion, but they were just simply remorseless monsters and a cancer that needed to be eliminated.

After that, all people regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or religion, were willing to sacrifice for the greater good.

Dear the operation was directed towards the area which the whole world considers sanctuaries for taliban and other terrorist organisation. And he did clear all those areas and all those moved to Afghanistan. And Taliban or Haqqani group dont need any sanctuary in Pakistan since they control several provinces in afghanistan. As to freedom fighters who fight for kashmir you should appreciate Pakistan's efforts since you dont see many attacks and Pakistan has controlled them.

@Taxzu - did you consider two important grave problems you had and have?

1) regardless what rest of the world considers it to be , those areas are Pakistan. Your general was bombing the hell out of them as well as assisting the US to drone bomb (not just there in the remote areas btw)
2) And all that bombing without fixing anything inside the military that created the terrorists in the first place!

terror threat will remain unless america leave Afganistan .Ttp donot have sophisticated technology weapons so it is easy to defeat them.Now israel and america are planning to give isis advance weapons which is shown by isis in a video in which they are hitting iraq forces by using guided missiles fired from american drone.So I think this achievement by Raheel Shareef is no doubt a big achievement but may be short term and reversible.For long term achievement economy should be improved and living condition of ordinary citizens should be improved because sense of deprivation results in to people involving in anti state activities for money given by agencies of foreign countries.The problem with Army generals is that they have limited vision they consider only one aspect which is use of force and donot consider the causes that result people involving in such anti state activities .
