Security gadgets worth Rs82.353 million are to be installed at the offices of the chief minister, at the Governor’s House and the Punjab Assembly, The Express Tribune has learnt.

An official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that on the request of the Home Department, the Finance Department had released the funds as a supplementary grant.

The Police Department, the official said, would purchase the gadgets and the Communication and Works Department would install them and ensure that they remain operational.

In February 2011, the Police Department purchased security gadgets worth Rs12 million which were installed at the newly declared camp office in Jati Umra Raiwind farm of the chief minister.

In May 2011, the government approved purchase of security gadgets worth Rs11.5 million for the residence of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Isn't it amazing that news while claims that around 495 million have been spent, the amounts highlighted in details only account to 32 Million PKR. Where are the details of 462 Millions? It must be investigated and responsible be dealt with. I guess PTI can lodge a petition in court against the mis-use of funds.

apparently some important accounts have been given only, read the new item carefully.

p.s. why bring PTI mantra in this, tumharay paisay nahi hain yeh, ya tu afghani ho?

even the important accounts are minute. On further reading the news, the news says that camp office of SS was in jati umrah whereas it was at minar-e-Pakistan I guess. But the final figure is really surprising. Why I am saying PTI should move forward because the leader of opposition in Punjab is from PTI and its the duty of opposition to take steps on any such news. Like I said before, The petition against rental powers was submitted by Khawaja Asif. Likewise, one CDA sold land to "chiriya" at very low prices, Ch Nisar went to the courts with the petition. So PTI may also move in with a petition to investigate this huge amount of funds, I would also support such a cause because such a huge amount of public money could be spent elsewhere.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has abolished 94 more police checkposts in eight different districts of the province under the directive of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
It merits mention that so for a total of 142 police checkposts have been completely abandoned in the province during the last two days.

94 more check-posts abolished in KP
