French Muslim leaders approve charter outlining 'enlightened Islam'

The very word "libtard" is cringy and sounds like a 12 year old made it up.

It's not about being hurt by it, no one is actually hurt by it, it's just cringy and childish.

Guess thats why it stung so much, people like u have no problem using derogatory terms like "mullah" and "ummah chummah" yet heavens fall shall anyone defile the sacred term liberal........ where thy free speech be gone i wonder, libturd is too light a word, hypocrite is more appropriate.

Notice I don't actually use those terms in any derogatory form, I'll jokingly call zarvan a maulvi, but it's all in good fun. So I don't know why you're saying it as if I do.

Also, I'm not a liberal. It was a joke. I'm a left wing libertarian, that's actually way different.

Hello

Can you give more reasoning for your comment about backfiring --
I'm not to politically active in learning about French and seeing your from Canada you might have more insight.

I think it will backfire because extremists are not the same as moderates. When there are more attacks it will highlight how change and integration are not possible. The extreme right is already significant in France. They will be able to say, "See, told you."

The more you embolden extremists, the worse they will act. And the more you squeeze a minority, the more they will do to defend themselves. Its said that the longer a movement or protest that goes on, the more extreme in nature it gets, and France is pretty much an example of that. Macron was supposed to be a liberal centrist politician, and he's been leaning more and more right wing, which goes to prove why centrism doesnt work. He moving more and more right wing to compete with the likes of Marine Le Pen, who's a populist far right politician.

The more right Macron goes, the more emboldened the fascist base will get, the more fascist laws that will get passed, the more squeezed the muslim community will get. Eventually, we'll see people who were fairly normal in their Islamic beliefs become more and more extremist, until eventually they may take a terroristic action against the state of france, which will lead to more support for the right, and lead to a spiral of degradation of french society.

Mind you, I think France is one of the most racist societies in Europe, and has been since the birth of the current republic, but it had rule of law that mitigated those racist tendencies. With the rise of the right wing, things will likely get worse.

France is using it's current so called "secular character" which isnt actually secular if you know anything about France's history, in order to persecute religious minorities, especially Muslims and Jews.
