French boycott Takes momentum in Pakistan!

It doesn't have to be a total severing of ties though just enough to hurt them. Which the boycott probably won't do but they'll definitely feel something especially due to Covid.
As usual Pakistan is going to get it's testicles sliced. Reason? Those who can hurt France like Saudia, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey will either do nothing or just make empty gestures and business will be usual within few months. On the contrary those who can't hurt France [because their imports from France are peanuts] and also can't afford to rile France and the West [FATF, we need export markets etc] like Pakistan will as usual scream the loudest.

I bet that country that was a drowning begger not long ago - Bangladesh will take a very measured, low key approach because it has interests to guard.

You're right about that. BTW Bangladesh already has taken an approach and it is exactly as described, if anything lower key:

Every billion counts.

Exactly, when Banglas look at France they don't see a arena for a jihad but a huge prosperous market for their garment exports. That business outlook is why Bangla exports are flying high and Pakistan on the other hand is begging bowl in hand with IMF.

There're some nutjobs in BD that are protesting too but the government is remaining neutral. Pakistan could've taken a similar approach.

Bangladesh is focucsed on bringing itself up while Pakistan just prefers stagnation but that's okay lets celebrate our new shiny "military toys" from China or whatever Turkey does in Syria or Karabakh we are cheerleaders not a world power

Actually that is the sad part. People often decry Pakistan for being a security state. If only. I wish that was the case. The truth is the government and the military are fully aware of what exactly are Pakistan;s interests. And that begins by not annoying such influencial coutries as France who by the way will find support from the wider west. But the problem is massive number of Pakistani population have been brainwashed over the last 70 years with the idea of Pakistan being some chowkidar of Muslims across the world [note the two people involved in the latest killing in France were Chechen and a Tunisian] that leaders in Pakistan are compelled by public pressure to make these public statements. In effect they placate mobs or we would have Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi burning.

This is not the case in BD. The 1971 event taught a very hard lesson to Banglas. Their enemies [West Paks] were also Muslim and it took a Hindu soldiers to save their arses. The movement that gave birth to Bangladesh was profoundly secular because the war of 1971 was a war around secular issues and NOT religion. This has made it easier to mould the Bangla population and muzzle thier mullahs.

In Pakistan the song "Pakistan kya matlab la la la" still rings true. And that is a licence for mullahs to burn tyres and flags ..... with impunity.

Pakistan is a "rentier state" for geo politics its an Egypt but with nuclear bombs

What a idiot. To begin with Pakistan exports $420 million to France and imports $440 million. Thus France has a $20 million trade balance. This is Pakistan's leverage or ability to hurt France. This is peanuts. France is one of the worlds largest economies and $20 million is like a penny going missing from Zardari.

The countries that can bend France are those like Saudia, UAE, Bahrain etc who buy billions of dollars in products from France including Airbus planes.

According to this list:

None of France's major export partners is a Muslim majority country. It's unlikely to do the French economy serious harm.

The best way to combat Islamophobia is not just to protest and boycott, but to build a modern Muslim-majority country that can match French economy, technology and science.
If only Muslims had the brain to do that, they wouldn't be in the mess they are in. I really hope they start to work harder and develop their nations. At least for me, all that matters is Pakistan becomes stronger.

Even then it is a failed rentier state. The Egyptians to be fair to them do extract lot of dollars for renting. Lot of dollars. They will even make peace with Israel for few dollars more. Pakistan on the other hand can't even get proper rental income.
And you know what is driving Pak businesses like Total petrol stations etc to "declare NO French" so loudly. The owners will be terrified some mob led by a mullah will burn them down.

That's pretty crazy to think about...People call the military the establishment but even the military doesn't take a stance against these crazy mullahs. Are mullahs the real establishment? :sarcastic:
