Why cant we get a PAK FA based non stealthy 4.5 gen MKIed jet with external weapon stations.

Which can ease the production of PAK FA due to higher numbers. or is it just not practical stuff @sancho

he language of article sounds like Dassault is looking for ways to get out of negotiations. But i guess here India must stand its ground and while it would be painful delay further more for IAF, atleast in future, large value defence contracts will be executed relatively quickly.
@sancho sir a few days back you talked about possibility of EADS getting into fray. What do you make out of these statements, does the deal now looking progressively difficult to get through?

As it stands now, the deal is on a verge to get cancelled! After 3 wasted years and Dassault making up one reason after the other to gain benefits for them and Reliance, while IAF, the former and the new MoD stand remains very clear. It's time to take a decision on Rafale now and move on, the one way or the other. Either the DM bows down to Dassault, which would be a huge damage to his and the governments reputation, especially after his recent remarks, or he stays strong and rejects Rafale.
What then happens needs to be seen, I have no doubt that they will ask the EF consortium at least inofficially about there stand on the licence production and how fast they could fix the contracts and depending on the response they either will start official negotiations with the L2 or go to the Russian option.
I think it's a matter of pride now to for the government and India to an extend, to not be seen in the world as the failed side of the competition, our reputation is bad enough at the moment. That again might fuel the interest of the government to at least get a deal with the L2. I still hope Dassault gets to it's senses, but even my hopes are pretty low at this point.

If you add weapon pods to the MKI, it wouldn't have anything to do with the Pak Fa, so no advantage there. We can take either addional upgraded MKI's, or early Pak Fa's.

just buy the EF2000 its the right time to squeeze and get what we want since the European defense market is starving for bulk orders

This is the utter downright moronic idiocy that Indian procurement policy has plumbed to.
Having spend years deciding what should have taken months and consequently made the deal unviable they wont to go for the another plane.
The details of such a deal will take another decade by which time the whole deal will stink to high heaven again.
The US option was best for quick execution and reasonable cost but instead chose the french knowing such a deal would take a long time to nail down.

Indian airforce is being collectively destroyed by a bunch of rancid morons

Ok, but what do you mean with "based non stealthy 4.5 gen MKIed"?
Take initial pak fa with out non stealth coating and that expensive stuff and with external loads. A modified pak fa just like what we did with su 30. The cost will be lesser than rafale and getting a structural low rcs with commonality with high end FGFA. We can add Israeli, INDIAN and french systems.

First of all, even non stealth fighters commonly use coatings today, so that will be applied on any fighter we add. Secondly, the expensive stuff are the advanced systems like modern AESA radar, avionics and engines, not to mention to maintain a heavy class stealth fighter vs a medium class 4.5th gen fighter. There will be a huge cost difference!
Also our modifications on the MKI made it more expensive, not less and the same applies to Pak Fa, since we wouldn't go down with out requirements, but in fact have higher once than the Russians have.
We can take Pak Fa's directly from Russia, which gives IAF an operational advantage and even can counter the squadron number issue on paper. But we never will use one of the in any role, the Mig 21s or even 27s did, or where the MMRCAs what the MMRCAs were planned for. So that's nothing but a stopgap solution, but doesn't solve the problem for the lower end operations. It's more likely that we would add more MKIs for commonality reasons, question is only from which production line?

First news I read after I learn to read was about India/france Rafael deal, few years from now I might become a grand father yet that news seem as fresh today as when i first read it.

IAF is not happy with RAfael deal, IAF is not happy with T Mk1 , IAaf is not happy with FGFA deal, than what the hell they want ?

.
LOL India ran out of money. France rejected their attempt to beg for free Rafale. Now China deployed J-10B to Tibet. It's too late for India.

. .
too many bureaucratic hurdles in India when it comes to defense deal.
The problem is IAF think they can get whatever they want from GOI. And its greedy as hell we can get new Su-35 or we can produce our own fighter by buying su-37 from Russia but .....
