Foxconn nears deal to build iPhones in India: Report

the problem of indian farming is, (a). most are small farms which makes them inefficient,
.

But have you ever wondered why the farms are small
because of population pressure

Every farmer's land gets divided when it passes on to his childeren

So we need ALTERNATIVE employment oppurtunities for the Rural people

Farming is not enough ; you need industry too

.
Never liked crApple products and now another reason not to buy :enjoy:.

.
the capitalist socio-economic system surrounding the farmers.

For your KIND Information ; India is one of the LARGEST subsidy providers
when it comes to Agriculture

From Bank loans at 4 percent ; fertiliser subsidy ; crop insurance ; irrigation subsidy
free electricity or diesel ; subsidised seeds ; Indian Government
spends a LOT on agriculture

And then interest is waived off and repayment of Bank loans are also deferred
after a drought

That is why we are able to produce enough for our 1.25 billion people

@jamahir

Have you heard of WTO case where India FOUGHT the entire world alone
for the RIGHT to provide subsidies to its farmers

Ultimately India won and WTO had to accept Indian conditions

.
thank you for the confidence in the path i speak of.

and some things need repeating... we are talking about human society and its rights and wrongs... three more farmers in maharashtra, andhra and karnataka would have suicided in the last three days. :)
ohh,,,u can repeat thm as mch as u want,,,,thing is,u refuse to understand n acknowledge human behavior(or ur just plain stupid)

there is a simple solution to that which i wrote in that very post.

collectivization, meaning set up a large farm and arrange say five families to work on it with fully mechanized tools... plus, do that with the modern discovery of the 'vertical farm' idea and urban farming.

below article speaks of collective farming in dprk ( north korea ) :

http://www.globalresearch.ca/inside-north-korea/10310

'urban farming' has been there for some years in venezuela.

now, there is no need for a indian village to stay a village... what should happen is gather the populations of ten villages and set them up in a highly-urban township which has been planned scientifically... create neighborhood-level 'vertical farms' ( with collectivization of workers ) within a socialist set up in each such township... this will of course mean that the definition of employment in india must change... what we will have is self-sufficiency in food, resources and employment, plus when this is implemented all over india we will have the big city migrant populations going back to their villages.

when every city and township has good amount self-sufficiency in food production, scientific water usage, scientific storage, local processing and packing and minimal transport of raw agricultural produce and socialist socio-economics we won't have farmer suicides or people having to eat grass rotis or dying of hunger.

what all this needs is simple - political will.

i will reply on this tomorrow.

It is not possible because of India's large population and DENSITY of population

Land is a sensitive issue in India ; you cannot have collective ownership of land
will never happen

That is impractical ; The only thing where people cooperate in Indian villages is
sharing Tractors and other machinery ; that is all

.
that's funny coming from you.

you who participated so much in ganging-up with 'rain man' and 'skull and bones' against me... you who thank every post that includes a insult against me or socialism or socialists.

go look into a mirror.

and if not a capitalist what are you?? a student of castro and nelson mandela??

Your next iPhone could be made in India. According to a report in ET Now, the iPhone contract manufacturer Foxconn is in talks with the Indian government to open a facility to make Apple smartphones in the country.

The $10-billion facility will be located in Maharashtra, India. The company is said to be looking for a 1,200 acre of land for the facility.

The report also claims that while several state governments have been in the fray for the deal, the centre government and Foxconn have zeroed on Maharashtra.

Apple CEO Tim Cook says betting big on India, but lot of work needs to be done

Foxconn is reported to have shortlisted Talegaon-Chakan and Khalapur as likely locations. The company has also taken office space in Mumbai for the production of Xiaomi and Reliance Jio's Lyf smartphones.

The world's largest electronics major is making products for companies such as Sony, Xiaomi, Gionee and Microsoft at its India units.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has recently rejected Apple's request to sell refurbished iPhones in India. The government has sounded out Apple that it is in-principle against allowing import and sale of second-hand phones in India to prevent dumping of hazardous electronic waste.

This deals a setback to the smartphone maker's expansion plans in a market where it sees huge potential amid overall slowdown of its sales.
