ISLAMABAD: Four soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred and one was injured in two separate terrorist attacks in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

An attack on a fencing team in Dir district martyred three soldiers. The team was busy fencing the porous Pak-Afghan border when terrorist from across the border opened fire. One soldier was also injured in the attack.

In a separate incident in North Waziristan, terrorists opened fire on a routine patrolling party of security forces near Abba Khel in Spin Wam area on Friday night. The attack martyred a soldier.


The ISPR said retaliatory fire killed two of the attackers.


According to ISPR, those who embraced martyrdom included Lance Naik Said Amin Afridi, a 28-year-old resident of district Khyber, Lance Naik Muhammad Shoaib Swati, a 31-year-old resident of Manshera and Sepoy Kashif Ali from Nowshera.

The soldier who embraced martyrdom North Waziristan was identified as 22-year-old Sepoy Akhtar Hussain, who was a resident of Baltistan.

Earlier this morning, a soldier embraced martyrdom on as Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along Line of Control (LoC).

“Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Hajipir Sector,” Inter-Services Public Relations said in a press release

Havaldar Nasir Hussain, 33, was a resident of Narowal and had been serving in the army for 16 years.

These proxies are in panic mod and attacks Pakistan Army mostly by taking advantage of locality.

Casualties are also high due to the nature of fence not being concrete fence
The ground units should have a APC backup with troops inside

These casualties are due to lack of appropriate equipment in key areas near border

They are probably busy in Housing societies and kick backs, their children's live and study in America or UK .. while our foot soldiers have to die in Ambushes like these . Patrolling can be conducted by only one vehicle also.

This is expected when IA is hit hard and mounting causalities on LOC, they have to equal the numbers somewhere.

That planning of convoy movement is not possible always and patrolling is not conducted by 4-5 vehicles always. It takes years to replace light vehicles since they are most numerous in inventory. One soldier has been martyred in convoy, the other 3 have been martyred in a separate incident.
