Why this is all about social service ... Even 6 teams are not enough to build just one team ? Circket should not be to feed people or social service ... If a person is not capable of getting him selected in top 7 person then he should find some other profession ... for every one post in the national team there are 6 positions in regional teams ... for simplicity if you require one wicket keeper in national team you are carrying 6 as backup in regional teams and this guy want to carry even more ,,, thats stupid ...

Given the size of our population we should have more that 6 teams. Though I take the point that at end of the day we will only have 11 slots (15 say squad size) irrespective of number of regional team. But in my opinion it will allow more talent to come through.

I would like

3 from Punjab (North, Central and South), 2 Sindh (Karachi and Rest of the Sindh), 2 from KPK (1 from Abbotabad and area and 1 from rest of KPK), 1 Baluchistan and 1 from AJK. So Total 9 teams.

At the back end, I also would like to see lower level clubs to be fixed up and be affiliated with one of the regional team to provide player. Thus there will be grass root level development.

If you have to provide sustenance or jobs to someone do it through some stipend or office jobs but if they do not deserve to be in the team i.e. better players are available then we should go for them instead of keeping people without merit and letting the country down.

man these are official teams not the only teams playing in Pakistan ... To feed these provincial teams there will be local teams but management of these teams will not be domain of PCB ...

PCB should play role in that, either via certification or through other support so that there is ground level infrastructure. This should also include competition at High School level and moving on from there.

This is not job of pcb but job of provincial and local government ... pcb do not have resources nor should they engage at such a small level ...

Lol that is the job of governing body and not that of provincial or local government. Yes, PCB will seek assistant from them to introduce these things but it solely rests with governing body.

in which country local government and city level cricket is being governed by country level board ? or for that matter in which sports?

It is a world wide practice that sports starts with schools and then local bodies gets school level competitions which then transforms into city level competitions and then country level baord pick and choose best players for state level and country level cricket ...

I don't know why people think that everything has to be done by government itself ?

All Sports including cricket has to be promoted at primary, secondary school, college and club level.
UK and Australia funds are allocated at school level for coach and training department. In Pakistan is opposite, we don’t have any funds for sports. I would like to see how government will do that.

All major supporting countries. Yes sports are played at school but is the governing body that is involved in it and makes arrangement with school boards.

Not enough sports ground in Pakistan. Government doesn’t care much for Sports but that attitude has to change otherwise sports will eventually die in Pakistan. Football has a great potential in Pakistan but it’s not promote in the right areas. Baloch and Makrani are naturally better football players but no progress their. KPK and FATA another area where Football and other sports should be promoted. Sports can generate lots of money if promoted properly.

Baseball should also be promoted same way as Cricket.
