Forgotten History: Okinawa and The Vietnam War

some regret, some not. human being. and humans make mistakes. they are not perfect. I can blame them for imperfection, but what is good for if they regret or not? what matters is that remains at the end of the day.

vietnamese people are without prejudice. we see foreigners coming and leaving. when the french troops withdrew from vietnam, they sang the famous chanson on the streets: "Non, je ne regrette rien" (No, I don´t regret anything). that is the french style to say good bye from vietnam and indochina.

In respect of similar tragic incidence, the Jews have done a fabulous job.
It is not about prejudice. Ask the Jews or Polish etc if there is any interactions between them and the Germans - a lot
Ask them again how they commemorate their WW2 sufferings

We are pretty much follow the same path as the Jews and people of Poland. Germany has sincerely felt remorseful and they have done a lot to show their sincerity, We cant say the same has done by Japan. The Japanese have been walking in the opposite direction

I dont know much about the Vietnames and the Americans about the commemorations of the US-Vietnam war. But I know the Americans has established a long black marble wall and statues to commemorate the US soldiers

Peace is practiced through constant reiteration and stern visage of leaders of nations. It is not just words, but through action. Like the constant practice in Kendo, which readies the spirit , the heart, the mind, and the body for any scenario.

If you believe that's noble, then be it. Again, it is your nation's affairs and your decision how to deal with your colonizers or murderers is to be respected by myself.

But between nations I am for revengeful justice rather than humble nobleness.

I feel your way is better for brothers within a nation: To heal the wounds (say, of a civil war) without seeking revengeful justice.

Personally (only personally), I am for a similar, brotherly solution between China and Japan because of the deep historical, racial and cultural affinity. This can be said of China's other neighbors.

But, when it comes to the colonizing and war-thirsty West, I am for revengeful justice.

why should China grab it? China never bothered grabbing the island from the past because it was a good tribute state, it was Japan who grabbed it with force (same as how US grabbed Hawaii lol). We know how the people living in Okinawa had suffered the past decades no thanks to US soldiers.

Indeed why should China grabbed it just as explaining why it grabbed territories from the Filipinos and the Vietnamese in recent years as well as wanting to grab Senkaku Islands from Japan?

Why did the US grab territories from Mexico?

The US “Southwest” was stolen from Mexicans | Thetruthisfreedom's Blog

"Sociologist Stan Steiner wrote a book entitled “La Raza de Bronze” in which he states that “the massacres throughout the ‘Texas’ border was truly incredible, as most whites had turned into cold blooded killers totally degenerate spreading terror all along the territory killing people only because they were Mexicans, calling them ‘stupid greasers’ before murdering them.” The author also wrote in his book about a season called “Mexican hunting” in which the biggest and most incredible crimes were committed against Mexicans by white men, while no punishment was imposed on the killers for their crimes since a judge or jury would not dare to condemn whites for murdering Mexicans. “In reading reports by authorities it feels as if there was indeed a season for real hunting along the border in those days,” wrote the author."
