Forget India, profit from rise of Pakistan: US Financial Times

Just read your Dawn paper today... how brokers cheated investors 7bn PKR....who will invest in your market.???
please read it carefully whole article PSX has nothing to do with it, only 4-5 brokers are involved and the investors are responsible for loosing their money. if they want to do the business by broker on their behalf without opening an account in CDC to keep hiding their black money and avoid taxation, they may face the similar consequences in any equity market whether its PAK, US or INDIA. Please argue sensibly, and read full news before referring. Today PSX open positive and its going as usual.

I live in the US want to invest in Pakistan...how does one go about it? I can invest indirectly through mutual funds and ETF, but want to know if there's a more direct way.
Dear I was living in UAE when I opened my account in BIPL Securities formerly KASB Securities and a link account in CDC Central Depository Company. And trading directly via their trading terminal, least broker involvement. I cannot help you much at the moment but look into the matters and will inform you. Regards

Just Stock shares.
Do you trade CFD's or just the stock shares of a company?

Best investment is to manufacture goods.

stock markets trends are a terrible measure of a country's economic performance. Pakistan's stock exchange is very new and thus investors will be expecting to make a quick buck, I don't see how this new can be interpreted as good or bad other than for those investors. The stock market is fetishised too much.

The fact that China can buy 40% of Pakistan's stock market for under $100m says it all.

this we are talking about just new IPO's in upcoming year.
PSX management is totally different from worth of whole Pakistan stock Market you are referring.
Secondly PSX is quite mature now.

PSX is one of the world’s best performing markets, the benchmark KSE-100 Share Index has given over 20 per cent return to the investors during last 10 years while some stocks paid 500 per cent return in the same period,

The benchmark index is already up 25 per cent this year and hitting new highs every other day. It has also regained the status of Asian Tiger after becoming the best performing market in Asia and fifth-best performing market globally in 2016, Bloomberg reported earlier in July

Pakistani stocks have been included in the emerging market of Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and would finally be included in May 2017 as one of the best performing market across Asia as well as the world.

Market capitalization of listed companies (US dollar) in Pakistan was last measured at 43,676,289,972.16 in 2012, according to the World Bank. Market capitalization (also known as market value) is the share price times the number of shares outstanding.

All of us should be thankful to Allah that we're moving in positive direction. I can see some folks are trying to "investigate" why western media has been praising Pakistan lately. This is the third such article I've seen lately. But I strongly believe things are getting better. If someone has got solid facts & figures they should counter the firangi media :p ... Let's hope for the best.

Something isn't right. The western media has been praising the Pakistani economy thru the roof lately. An attempt to save their lap dog nawaz sharif from the legal panama quagmire he is stuck in?

This bodes well for the full region. Countries with smaller populations are able to grow at a much quicker pace as they have fewer laggards. That's why I see Lanka becoming the first country in South Asia to get the "developed nation" tag. Don't know much about Pakistani manufacturing but I have only seen some garments and towels in stores in the US/Europe with a "Made in Pakistan" tag; more clothes from Bangladesh for sure.

As I said in some other thread, a kirana store in my neighborhood had its profit doubled for the last few years. So, technically its doing better than your stock exchange. While claiming to be the worlds best performing stock exchange, please also mention the market capitalisation of those exchanges viz a viz yours.

[QUOTE="hriday, post: 9191500, member: 182813 thats way pakistan become economic power, right porki

This articles is from Financial Times USA, so you don't have any right to ask any question from us and you are so dump like your other fellows who tried to raise some baseless question in this thread as you compared a kiriana store with worlds emerging equity market. your level of understanding the equity market is quite evident from rubbish example you quote here. Go literate yourself about equity market your level people and don't bother. Try to search on net you will get very healthy comparative figures of KSE 100.

1. india's ludicrous and laughable attempts bring "terrorism" in while itself is a major sponsor of state sponsored terrorism is laughable.
2. we have crushed all forms of terrorism and continue discriminate between the world recognized movement for freedom for the Kashmiris and actual terrorism (kulbhushan yadav *cough* *cough*)
3. we don't share your genes. Most of the gene pool of Pakistanis has its roots with the arabs, pashtuns and persians so don't flatter yourself!

such identity confusion as you have exhibited in #3 clearly explains the malaise of Pakistan. Once you guys get it right in your head as to who you are, then you can begin to hope t accomplish things worth accomplishing like your bigger neighbor.

We aren't confused about our identity just like our bigger CHINA neighbor isn't confused about their identity and that is we CAN hope to achieve new accomplishments worth accomplishing unlike our over weight fatter neighbor with blocked arteries india that is still confused on whether they are descendants of the aryan race or descendants of a mythical creaturesl called shiva! scoot along now shiva junior!

the same Shiva gene was in your forefathers too. unfortunately they were forced into converting religions but it doesn't change your genes. In those cases where such force included mixing of breeds, sure as you say, you may have ended up with mixed geneology - making you neither arabian nor Indian. Hence my calling it confused identity - if you don't like it, you can use mixed-up identity

 @ this "shiva" gene!

hey genius, shiva NEVER EXISTED! but hey if you believe ìn some mythical creature then knock yourself out, two thumbs up for ya and up yours :woot:, it really doesn't change REALITY in the least bit that NO human being is a descendant of some mythical self proclaiming "god"!:omghaha:

now that you've figured that out, read what you wrote again: you literally said reality is not mythical. Guess that makes you the genius's horserear
