Forget CPEC, here comes CAREC

An important project to be discussed and approved by Ecnec is the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (Carec) corridor development investment programme which will connect China and Afghanistan with Pakistan.

Ecnec is expected to take up the Rs8.6bn project for the construction of 82.5km Chitral-Garain-Chashma-Doraha Pass Road project which could serve as a major linkage between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asia.

The Central Development and Working Party has already recommended these projects to the Ecnec for approval.

CPEC and Ecnec are different things. Ecnec is a approval body for different projects having foreign component and stands for Executive Committee of the National Economic Council headed by Prime minister and other Ministers. Cpec is china pakistan economic corridor....So in short projects by Cpec are approved by ecnec...

All other projects are linked with CPEC because it is mother of all projects... it is therefore saying that a new Pakistan will emerge after this CPEC... now another ECNEC project has been launched and you will see some more projects will be initiated.... inshallah Pakistan has ridden on right path and our Pakistani will see the progress and prosperity in the country very soon...

The title is a bit misleading.

CAREC or any other alphabet soup will not replace or supersede CPEC.

CPEC is intended to facilitate other developments like CAREC because the whole intention of CPEC is to enhance connectivity and trade and make Pakistan a transit hub for major economic activity in the region. This will also benefit China and continue to burn India with jealousy.
