When was the last time a Chinese engine, fighter jet or pilot was combat tested ?
Yes, it has successfully intercepted a P-8A.
Not much of a 'combat test'.
China has achieved hundreds breakthrough in its attempts to manufacture aircraft engines. According to media reports the Chinese have not figure out the alloy composites of making a reliable heat bearing jet engine. So the WS-10 turbofans tend to have blades that crack and break apart sucking debris into the engine. WS-10 also has shorter lifespans than original AL-31 turbofans because metal alloys in WS-10 reportedly break and can’t handle the high heat. Also WS-10 turbofans have ‘spooling’ issues with their turbofans. It’s a lot more looming problem for the Chinese engineers than just advanced computerized production machinery. Plus WS-10 is not powerful enough to allow the feature ‘super cruise’ ability of F-22, F-35, and the future PAK FA-50.
Liming WS10A Engine
BS report.
China has achieved great progress in manufacturing fighter jet engines. China is still buying Russian engines as it waits for WS-10 to improve its performance. I am sure WS-10 is being used on J-10, J-11B, J-16 etc but China still uses reliable Russian engines until WS-10 meets the combat requirements of Chinese Air Force. Some have referred to the engine program comparatively as China's Apollo program.
There are no more report of new engine purchase from russia anymore since 2013. Given the growing size of Chinese airforce and usually, we will make new deal every 2 years but it has not happen anymore.China has achieved great progress in manufacturing fighter jet engines. First of all, you need to have an idea about the country you are making fun of.
Do you think who now has one of the most advanced extrusion presses?
Maximum vertical extrusion press extrusion first team thick seamless steel pipe | shijiananvip001
Do you know that the disc alloy of the turbofan engine was forged by these extrusion presses?
And here is the US counterpart, and where is the UK and France? Because all you have to do is to send your pieces to the US and ask them to do the forgery for you.

So stop comparing yourselves with China, since China has its own complete technological ecosystem, while you guys depend on the US on most of parts.
