For indian interest Awami League imposing 4 times more on RLY Proj

Even though there was no need for upgrading line to broad gauge, Awami League instead of improving system and services, undertook projects to benefit india. In the process Bangladeshi taxpayers paying 4 time more than required cost. Just in one section of Sylhet district Bangladeshi taxpayers would have to pay 400 cr more. Imagine how much more Bangladeshis has to pay if Awami League stick around and how much india plan to loot from Bangladesh using Awami League.

How does Bangladesh upgrading lines to broadgauge concern India? Is it for the loco engines?

If someone can translate what this article says then we can comment on it. Too broad a statement which does not explain how it is benefiting India. If you are upgrading to narrow gauge to broad gauge how does it concern us. But if you are planning to buy Indian locos then it makes sense because they are made for broad gauge. In 1991, Indian Railways concluded that metre gauge network had poor performance compared to broad gauge network and decided to convert most of the narrow gauge and meter gauge to broad gauge. We ourselves have converted close to 30,000 km to broad gauge. So naturally we would want our friends to benefit from our experience.

It seems all the development in Bangladesh is happening to please India.

Are you claiming upgrading to broad gauge is not the improvement of service and system. :omghaha::omghaha:

If we are funding some projects with our money then we expect you to use Indian companies and Indian products. It is naturally expected because we want to promote our strategic and economic interests. Instead if you guys can get the money from somewhere else, we know you are not going to oblige us.

China does most of the highway projects in Pakistan but they use their own labor and companies. I will give another example out of 77 billion given to Pakistan as economic aid, 45 billion was given back to donors to pay off previous debt. Every donor looks at its own interest first. You have to look at terms and conditions and pay attention to read the fine print.

What's else is left to be given away.

Which is other words translate into- India is trying to curtail BD's sovereignty with the help of a autocratic facist party like BAL. CHanakyan hegemons want to make BD a cannon fodder for Indian strategic ambitions. Naturally we BDs can't be lectured to accept this lunny logic of development & friendship. Its not necessary that our interest should always match, rather its the contrary that countries with such vast power disparity would have naturally different strategic & security concerns and interest. Let me put it more simply- Friendship with a certain political party doesn't ever translate to "friendship" with the country and neither is that sustainable.

Razakars are also illiterate it seems. Its time for BD govt to take a look at these Razakars.

Ofcourse Bangladesh would be converting lines to broad gauge. That is the international standard. And for any kind of trade to happen, Bangladesh would have to up its game and do what India is doing.

India has been spending hundreds of millions of dollars each year to progressively convert its entire rail line to broad gauge. That is because broad gauge is more efficient - can transport more men and materials.

Broad gauge is useless to us unless BCIM corridor is created. The only country we are linked to through railway is India...and its only one line between Kolkata and Dhaka....All other meter gauges in our country are serving us pretty well!

Bangladesh eventually plans on joining the intra country trade corridor right?
Then it would have to upgrade every line to broad gauge.
And its not a question of broad gauge's serving you very well. Its a question that any and every heavy density line must be made broad gauge because it gives better service, increases the carrying capacity of the line - both passenger and goods. There is a reason India is spending so much money in upgrading these lines.

Apart from that since broad gauge is the international standard, the bogies are cheaper to source, cheaper to maintain.

Thirdly, in a dense country like Bangladesh where land is scarce, it is a wonder your governments did not start broad gauging two decades back.

We would like to join the corridor....but can India and China come to terms??If not then it will be a waste for us!If BCIM corridor is not created we have no reason to change....If BCIM is created then we will happily do it!

Bhai exactly when is BD election? I hope BNP comes to power, then cancel all the deals and spare us. :)

This post shows that U are pretty ignorant about BD matters which is natural but then why go on spouting rubbish propaganda from Indian outlets.:omghaha: Elections are uncertain thanks to Hasina amending the constitution and abolishing the caretaker gov system that held all national elections since 1990. Why do U think all the hartals are for? BAL wants to stay in power eternally which is overtly and covertly backed by India off course.
