Sad thing is, the export variants of the T-90 do not come with APS. The Russians do not exactly give out the best features and ammo to their export customers.

We won't see those 'red eyes' on export variants.

I still fail to understand why Indians want another tank after Arjun.

Our commanders are good in throwing challenges to developers, lat time the threw the challenge was
"We want a fighter plan which will be of size of MOUSE, have power of ELEPHANT, agility of HAWK, shall run like CHEETAH." Bullshit!, these guys give unrealistic requirement. Germans are ace in making Tank, If our crappy commanders ask german to make the tank of there dream, Geramans will kick there Bu!!.

As one of my Bangla brother "Zabaniya " mentioned in one of thread "India should concentrate on Arjuna to make it successful series. (Like Merkava,Abrams and tiger series.)

.
I think a heavily reconfigured Arjun can do the job just fine.

Israel has been using the Merkava for decades, why cant we do the same with Arjun?

Coz by buying Arjuna our generals/babus and politicians will not get "Sharab", "Shabab" and "Kabab" (Wine girl and money). Last time they sabotaged the Arjuna tank, They put sand in fuel tank. Later DRDO asked Israelite to evaluate it and see what Israeli evaluator told..

Some quotes
CVRDE chief, Dr P Sivakumar, an award-winning transmission specialist, is jubilant. “Earlier the army was criticising my Arjun [for weighing too much]. But, after seeing its cross-country performance, even compared with a lighter 40-tonne tank like the T-90, they realise that the Arjun moves like a Ferrari. Even at 65-66 tonnes, it will beat any MBT in the desert,” he promises.

That is endorsed by Israel Military Industries (IMI), which did a “third-party evaluation” of the Arjun. Israeli experts opine that the Arjun would outrun any competition.
