ok let me correct myself, hoisting flag is not a criminal offence, as per the police report is actually:

The complaint, which was filed under Section 153A of Indian Penal Code, has been clamped for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language among others and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.

So how is hoisting Pakistan's national flag a criminal offence then? Pakistan is a country not a religion, language, etc....

And i am sure only hoisting Pakistani flag is a criminal offense in India i feel you can hoist anyone else's flag but not Pakistani.

It can be otherway round too. I meant some non-Muslim read anyone from Modi's camp hoisted the Pakistani flag to pressurise poor Gujrat Muslims.

And its very much likely the case as i dont see Gujrat Muslims would want to bring wrath of fundamentalists hindus from RSS or bajrang dali once again by hoisting our flag.

Four persons have been arrested for allegedly hoisting a Pakistani flag over a shrine in Umreth town of the district in Gujarat here today.

Two Pakistani flags were seen tied to a neem tree above a 'dargah' by locals, who informed the police.

According to police, a complaint has been filed against five persons including two 'trustees' and three workers of the shrine for promoting enmity between different groups under IPC 153A.

Four people including one trustee of the shrine have been arrested, while another trustee has not been arrested due to poor health, the police said.

On preliminary investigation it was found that the flag was similar to Pakistan's national flag but not an original one as it was printed on only on one side, the police said.
