Thats very stupid thing to say. Gurkhas are very small and they were the most favourite soldiers of British. The criterea was not physique but loyalty towards farangis. British had no choice but to rely on punjabis and gurkhas for army after 1857 war of independence.

British needed soldiers especially in the first front.
The first front usually is shot first.
So it is nothing special why british used many hindi people.

Pashtun and Ponjabi soldiers were the strong ones and had the most influence.

Hindi soldiers were only footsoldiers nothing special about it.

There was also nothing special about pathan and punjabi fodder sepoys.

It's all about perspective.

Even today in the arab countires pakistanis (especially pashtuns) are preferred over hindis for hard physical work.

You are argueing that those desi sepoys were used against kafirs so whats my problem?. Well they were not just used against ottoman muslims, they were also deployed against your own pakhtuns. May be it was big deal for previously unknown gurkha to get recruitments in the army of british army but your and mine people were up against invasions and occupation. If your grandfather served in british indian army, then i can sympathize with you but for me, desi sepoys were just mercenaries for hire. They neither fought for their nation nor religion.

I think the conflict between us Pashtuns existed long before British came.
Some Pashtun tribes don't like other Pashtun tribes. Some even think they are superior somehow.
For example some people say bad things about Khattaks.

But I myself hate those things.
First we are muslims. Then we are Pashtuns. Then our tribes.
We shouldn't hate nor fight each other.

I don't know how to write it correctly but it sounds like "Sagdamzai".

Sadozai? I think you are Sudhan. Going by location Rawalkot in Azad Kashmir.

No it doesn't sound like Sadozai.

And I'm definetely not Sudhan because we are recent immigrants who came to Rawalakot not long ago.

Maybe I hear "Sagdamzai" wrong and it is actually "Sakzai".

Sakzai - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also called Sakazai and Sagzai. Which sounds smiliar.

So it could be I belong to this tribe.

But I don't know for sure.

British always used Pakistani soldiers in their wars since hindi people are small and weak naturally.

British never recruited Hindi people because Hindi people screwed the East India Company in 1857.
