Thats very stupid thing to say. Gurkhas are very small and they were the most favourite soldiers of British. The criterea was not physique but loyalty towards farangis. British had no choice but to rely on punjabis and gurkhas for army after 1857 war of independence.
British needed soldiers especially in the first front.
The first front usually is shot first.
So it is nothing special why british used many hindi people.
Pashtun and Ponjabi soldiers were the strong ones and had the most influence.
Hindi soldiers were only footsoldiers nothing special about it.
