No there isn't, this was media slander. To this day no actual charges have been made against Tyagi despite the CBI investigation running for over a year now.
Watch in full:
This man's name, his family's and the IAF's have been dragged through the mud for more than 2 years now, finally the truth is out (soon the CBI will say as much).
Nope, V5s are not being used (that has been incorrectly stated in the media) but the same vintage Mi-8s that are at the end of their lifespan within a few months.
The V5 itself is not truly acceptable for head of state transport- the entire Mi-8 and Mi-17 family (including the V5) make use of only a single-channel hydraulics-control system under which the hydraulic actuators of all four control circuits are mounted in a single hydraulic package on the main gearbox, together with other parts of hydraulic system. In all Western multi-engined helicopters, however, this is seen as inherently unsafe and thus they use a dual-channel hydraulics-control system. The idea the V5 will offer as much safety as the three engined AW-101 is entirely false so I reiterate my point- for the senior most officials in India is it not right to get the safest possible aircraft (which the AW-101 is by the way)? There is no point in cutting corners to save a few dollars- India is no longer that poor.
