What's new

Ferozsons R&D Labs Pakistan, now exporting Remdesivir, why such optics are never shown by any media

No, not true....

The above mentioned first and second video is of a local Pakistani company.

MNC's are interested in marketing and sales in Pakistan and third world countries.

Check the recent statement of Angela merkel and Bill gates...more interested in making money.

What i can see in above video are very old models of instruments are being used in a industry like ferozson which disappoints me further. I had very high expectations even some top 20 local industries in karachi have more advance , precise and world class instruments then compare to ferozson.

.
No, it does not say it anywhere because It's an old promo video. It does not even say what it is manufacturing, that does not mean it is not manufacturing anything.

Where does it say they are exporting Remdesivir ?

It is saying what are they manufacturing ? Listen it one more time. Do write just for the sake of argument. You are making fool out of yourself, nothing else.

it just mentioned the annual capacity of tablets and syrups, now who is the fool

Your question was " It does not even say what it is manufacturing " and the bolded part is your answer. It proves that you are a retard who gets indulged into conversation without any substance to talk.

I would like to ask how many of you have actually worked in a pharma company.. and better.. if any one of you have actually audited the so called pharma medical research in Pakistan.. ???
Former can be any figure.. but for the later.. I am pretty sure.. none

Let me tell you some facts.

Pakistan pharma industry is like Pakistan car industry.. lots of assembly but little to no manufacturing.

The generics.. which makes up the whole of local industry.. their approval is sought by showing the most exuberant source of API with the highest manufacturing cost and after approval and pricing this trend reverses to make the highest profit.

As per law.. the companies are not allowed to buy in bulk the API and then sell it in the market.. yet this is done and was the cause of PIC disaster. It has never stopped.

There are no WHO or FDA certified companies in Pakistan. The number of companies even aiming for these certifications or even one of these can be counted on 2 fingers

BF biosciences .. a subsidiary of ferozsons is the best biological plant in Pakistan and probably the only one tht was installed by a European company. Their nowshera facility was upgraded just a few years back. They are the local partners of many international brands like Gilead.. pantheryx and baggo

The newer plants coming up by getz and for infant formula by morinaga are expected to be gud as well

Other than getz, sami, Nabi qasim, searle highnoon, ferozsons, martin dow, ccl and may be now Wilshire...rest of the local industry is a pure saeth culture. All they want, do and are good at is manipulation of culture, Underinvoicing and innovative ways of kickbacks and bribes.

So when you say Pakistan pharma industry is booming then all that means mostly is manufacturing and sales volume are increasing. There is no research, no newer combinations being tried or made, no authentic place for bio availability and bio equivalence trials. I can't even imagine narrating my experience of auditing the best site of the country.

So R&D for manufacturing.. nope.. we don't do that in Pakistan.. as we import already approved raw material for making the drugs after their patents have expired. Few companies are interested in collaboration and none are interested in going for the big fish in the market (american or europeanmarkets) as that requires gaining some approvals and accreditions.

Good detailed dissection...

I also pointed out the fact that Ferozsons(the video and the other one too) is just one of the few doing some R&D work and into manufacturing. Most of the pharma MNC's have nice looking modern offices as the facade at their production plants but not into any patent development and research.

The govt policies in FMCG sector and here in pharma supports the MNC's over local small players with not much finances and expertise...need to be changed.

This is some consolation and hope for future endeavors, quoting your write up.

Exactly thats what i have tried to convey that our pharmaceutical industry do have great people but the owners are more interested in producing business and compromising on drug quality and this is the major hurdle in who recognition, people needs to understand that pharmaceutical is not just a business , its a responsibility.... we need to change our culture first.

.
Our pharma industry is in infancy and will remain so until drastic changes are made.
Till we start making APIs and gain FDA, EMEA, and WHO certification, we are restricted to south-east Asian and African markets. These markets have a high competition, lower margins, and with lots of kickback... the last part is where south Asian nations excel than the rest

There is no doubt there is huge room for improvement. Especially in mindset. Let's make a start somewhere. This is definitely something to be proud of and cherish in the meantime. There is a lot of potential in pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan.

When was pharma industry or any industry ever a priority in Pakistan? Everything depends on state of economy and mindset of government and people. It will take time, but the seeds need to be planted now. This is a responsibility of both the government and the masses. When both are mature enough to realize what the priorities are things will move in the right direction.

Don't consider it pessimistic but i would rather like to more cherish once atleast a dozen of pharma industry got recognized by who and europe , middle east , usa consider our drug quality in high regards. If not purchasing from us but atleast respecting our pharma industrial capacity and drug quality then literally that would be the ultimate head high moment for us but currently we are compromising our long term goals for short term gains.

Everyone would, but that is not going to happen overnight. Like with so many things in life you first need to have the intention, desire and seriousness to set goals. All of these things are half the work to achieving the set goals.

These things can only be achieved if the government puts education at the highest priority. There needs to be zero compromise when it comes to education. Education for the masses needs to be drastically improved. To compete in such sectors you need an army of highly skilled experts. Not only the pharma sector, but all other high-tech sectors. What you are suggesting requires R&D. A different ball game as opposed to becoming a production factory of the world. Nothing extraordinary in my opinion, but the mindset will have to change completely.

First, Pakistan needs to improve economy. Everything depends on economy. Education, pharma industry etc. Have a good look at what Pakistan has achieved economically over the past decades. Apart from accruing debt we haven't achieved anything substantial. We had leaders that I don't deem fit to run a candyshop. Let's see who the people of Pakistan elect next elections. This is another lottery in Pakistan. Whoever gets elected usually decides the fate of the nation. Right now PTI is trying to revive the economy. If they get another term we can discuss and dream of such long term projects. If the Bilawal's and Maryam's get elected you can forget any pharmacy dream.
