Tax collection ahead of target and hope inshallah they meet their target of 4900 billion (or the lower IMF one).

After the current account deficit, the fiscal deficit has been the most challenging for the PTI government. If they are able to instill a tax paying culture in Pakistan, it will have a multiplier effect of benefits. They will leave the country in better shape than they found it, inshallah.

It's all from indirect taxes anyway
Increasing fuel, electricity and commodity prices.
All business activities have be curtailed.
The one eyed leading the blind

set low target for first 8 months vs total per year target. Claim victory every month and then by April beg IMF to lower target. Lmao

Good luck collecting rs2000 billion in last 4 months.

I think they will collect 4.5t+. If one factors in the amount of refunds (157b in 8 months) this is huge sum. Past government never issued refunds and kept it to inflate their numbers.
Last 4 months is where the government collects almost 35-40% of taxes historically. It is not an evenly divided scenario.

Tell you what, they are gonna ace that as well. Check historic data, Feb onwards is when biggest chunk of tax is always collected.
Government will also collect 300 billion tax back from the 1.4 billion tax exemption this tear
PTI government will set next year's tax collection target at 6 trillion rupees. Isnhallah by 2023 governments revenue will be more than its expenses and budget which stand at 7 trillion rupees now

Wow so good business means growing unemployment and poverty

Yes Just Like Times of Nawaz Sharif And His Extremely Competent Ahsan Iqbal

"Some 140 textile mills have closed their operations, while another 75 to 80 mills are on the verge of closure due to high cost of doing business. According to All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), with the closure of 140 textile mills, about one million workers have lost their jobs and further closures will add to the unemployment figure by another 0.5 million. Due to the closure of about 140 mills with various mills operating below capacity, textile exports are suffering a loss of over $4 billion per annum, he added."

Yeah we miss the days of your daddy Nawaj when target was 3000 and 1000 of that was met through import fees.
