FATF Grey List Did China and Saudi Arabia Support India?

PPP and PMLN have stole over 200 billion dollars in last 30 years. Awam and country has suffered too much....no more, no more.
Survival mode needs to be turn on. Catch these M*F* and have them write a check of the stolen and the money they laundered outside Pakistan.

In the end the US has made life more difficult in Afghanistan. This move won't foster any goodwill from our side. That much is certain.

If our leadership has one ounce of self-worth they would put pressure on the US/NATO through supply routes. We need to do it in public and transparently. Not behind closed doors!!!! Just like these fvcking Yanks have done it publicly and without any remorse.

Time has come to blackmail US/NATO the way they have been blackmailing us through FATF. We are not Timbuktu here. Some form of retaliation needs to follow.

I totally agree with you. But we need to make up our minds about this all. We should either be allied with the US or be entirely neutral in all her adventures. The problem with us is that, willingly or unwillingly, we became a part of the US's War OF Terror.

Now, if we choose to be entirely in the US camp, we will see a lot of benefits albeit with some loss of face and pride. This may be a no-issue, the US is THE sole super power as of today and deserves the respect. She treats other regional powers the same way, take for example Britain, Germany etc.

On the other hand, if we go for pride, which I am all for, then we need to be entirely neutral. We make it abundantly clear to the US that we will neither be pushed around nor will we be blackmailed. This needs to be followed up with some intense proactive diplomacy around the globe and some serious reaction to all US pressure tactics including imposition of realistic charges and duties for GLOC & ALOC allowed to the US forces in Afghanistan. However, for this we need to tighten our belts and be prepared to sweat it out for a long long time and the only way to come out of it would be with a decent, moral and somewhat honest Government, Bureaucracy and Military Management.

Why China want to put Pakistan in FATF grey list when we're investing over CPEC? such illogical speculation only happens in Indian's dream.

More dependency on China.... in real scenario, it does suite China and her OBOR plan..... Pakistan will have very limited choice and China can take more benefits

For better accountability. I am sure Chinese government would want to know if the Pakistan is utilizing the money they get from China only for CPEC.

I agree with you that in this day and age USA has the upper hand. But USA's days are numbered.

You can say what ever you want, we see that as mutual benefit, Pakistan get financial they need to upgrade their infrastructure while we have access to Arabian Ocean. Pakistan has always the choice to cooperate to who ever they want and not limited to China...we're pragmatic.

FATF Grey List: Pakistan has been Placed on FATF Grey List, is there a role of China or Saudi Arabia, besides India? The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has yet again put Pakistan on the greylist. The FATF has put Pakistan in the greylist for it has been providing financial assistance to terror and its related facets. The Financial Action Task Force on Wednesday confirmed the decision in a meeting on money laundering and held Pakistan accountable for funding terror. This comes as a big setback for Pakistan.

Pakistan, as expected, was irked and took strong objections to it. The interim minister for finance and planning argued that Pakistan has taken reasonable steps to tame money laundering and terror funding and apprised the FATF about the same. Pakistan put forth a strong case in order to not fall in the grey list of the FATF yet again but that certainly did not help. Pakistan was included in the list between 2012 and 2015 as well for funding terror and related operations.

India Hand Behind FATF Grey Listing of Pakistan?
Pakistan also argued that the Financial Action Task Force has acted under robust pressure from India and the United States of America. They further argued that India’s influence also persuaded China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to oppose Pakistan. China otherwise is known to be a close ally of Pakistan. Pakistan pleaded innocence but sources have confirmed that the FATF will be putting Pakistan on the greylist.

Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering is an inter-governmental body which was set up in 1989. The objectives of the FATF include the combating of money laundering, terror financing and related areas through legal, regulatory and operational measures. It also works to eliminate any threats to the international finance framework. It has 37 permanent members inclusive of two regional organisations. European Commission and Gulf Cooperation Council are the two regional organisations which are a part of the FATF. Israel and Saudi Arabia are the two observer nations at FATF.

Thank you India, for showing the real faces of our friends and yours too...

instead of saudis who are unreliable and u.s slaves we should develop close relations with iran and withdraw troops from saudi arab colation and raheel sharif should resign to record his protest

A 37-nation FATF plenary held its first meeting on Pakistan in February where China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia opposed the United States-led move to place Pakistan on the watchlist. But the US pushed for an unprecedented second discussion on Pakistan, held on February 22.

By then, Washington had convinced Riyadh to give up its support to Pakistan in return for a full FATF membership. This left only two – China and Turkey – in the Pakistan camp, one less than the required number of three members to stall a move.

At this stage, the Chinese informed Islamabad that they were opting out as they did not want to “lose face by supporting a move that’s doomed to fail”, an official source had told Dawn.

Pakistan appreciated the Chinese position and conveyed its gratitude to Turkey for continuing to support Islamabad against all odds,” the source added.

After Saudis opted out, China's support became meaningless.

We were put on FATF because of money laundering from Pakistan by our Patriotic politicians & their mafia.

One must ask .....what advantage will China have if Pakistan is on FATF list? Pakistan will not be able to get anymore loans from IMF without conditions.
Saudi and UAE are in no mode of balingout Pakistan.
Pakistan will only be able to borrow money from China and China can set the terms on those loans.

Indians obsession with Pakistan is legendary! but I very much like it when they speak on Pakistan and China's behalf.

Remember Chinese Investment in India GOOD, American Aid to India Good, but the same is bad for Pakistan

yes !!

Only Iran supported Pakistan.

And the Generals in Pakistan want to send soldiers to defend these Saudi MF** - these generals have no shame left in them. Pakistan soldiers are not for rent. The days of the Saudis and others like them are numbered - they are a sinking ship.
