I was questioning his assertion that, India has had twice as many casualties,

For all you know, Pakistani soldiers are also getting killed constantly, perhaps even in far greater numbers, just that Pakistan army has stopped informing you.

I mean, what other reason can be there for a state institution to not reveals one's casualties, when questioned by the parliament.

Except the fact, public knowledge of such information will cause embarrassment to the institution and the nation.

Our strategy is independent of casualties if any.
Present COAS has served in NLI, was GOC FCNA and then Corps commander X corps.He has plenty of experience in this sector. All are north and LOC centric formations.

These formations will keep the kettle boiling at the right temperature till the time it is necessary.

Any peace effort shall not be seen as a sign of weekness. This is just an effort by the country to present a soft image. We know that it is election season and modi won't reciprocate.

So it is better not to talk, and let the present status quo continue, because when ever there is progress towards peace, there are forces with in Pakistan which get unhinged(a result of your multiple power centers), and disrupt it, either by terrorism or military attacks.
