Look at the way he is holding the gun, everyone else holds the gun with barrel pointing away from oneself. this is not rocket science, just looking at the gun position one can tell it's a sure shot suicide case unless indian soldiers are taught to hold the barrels against their shoulders and fire the bullets through butts.

Didn't want to disclose this however, showed these pictures to a professional soldier who has done tours both in Iraq and Afghanistan, his immediate reaction was that it was a point blank shot, plus a sniper shot wouldn't do so much damage.
