RISALPUR: Police seized a truck filled with explosives in Risalpur, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, Express News reported.

The truck was on its way to Swat, through the Nowshera-Mardan road, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Cantt Akhtar Ali.

Police officials have arrested two men after investigating the case.

Earlier this week, explosives were planted in a state-run all-boys school by unidentified militants. Since the first such attack on June 21, 2011, around 12 schools have been targeted in the region, with no militant group claiming responsibility.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region saw the deadliest attack this year when a suicide bomber killed 27 people and injured 55 in Mardan.

This is the type of pre-emptive work that should be commended and followed up with proper investigation to catch the entire supply chain.

We can only wish.

The media people can tell you off the record that atleast over 400 attacks had been prevented due to timely information and action of law enforcement agencies during and around Muharram.

My question is where are these explosives in such quantity being made so easily.

afghanistan ANA simple super supplies, with cash they dont give a dam even if they themselves are the targets?
best of bussiness?lol

everywhere whats the big deal? you cant ban all the stuff though recently the sale of nails in big quantity has been banned but that wont stop the makers from acquiring the required quantity

Everything comes from Afghanistan, it is so obvious. Even politicians have said this.

We need strict border controls so these trucks can be searched at the border before they are delivered to recipients.

Great job by the security forces.

A lot of people like to complain but this is hard work. They are literally putting their lives on the line every day when they search for things like this and their accomplishments often go unrecognized. Since 2010 the number of TTP initiated attacks against Pakistan has decreased (27% drop in 2012 alone).

The military and police have proven themselves to be a competent and resilient force like the nation of Pakistan itself and a lot of the problems that prevent them from really getting out there and apprehending those seeking to attack Pakistan have to do with politics.

Why off the record? Such successes must be advertised widely to let the people know just how diligently our agencies are working to protect them on one hand, and to let the terrorist know that they will be caught on the other.

We congratulate the Pakistani Security Forces on seizing this explosive-laden truck. It is scary to think what could have happened if the perpetrators had succeeded in meeting their evil objective. These attempts to orchestrate acts of terror prove the need to remain vigilant against those who are working against our peace efforts in the region. We are working hard on both sides of the border to prevent these terrorists from carrying forward their terrorist activities. We share a common goal in regards to stabilizing the region. We refuse to bow down to these terrorists and hope to continue our partnership for the sake of achieving our peace objectives.

ANFO sir, Urea Khad. This is the component of choice for making ANFO: Amonium Nitrate Fuel Oil based high explosive. The other variant is PETN or TATP, all can be made easily in Pakistan. But TTP and Afghan TTP prefer ANFO due to ease of finding components and relative high order explosion.

This is why the US wanted us to dye our urea red so it could be detected when the component for ANFO is being bought or sold in large quantities.
