"Evolution is still a theory", that is a very misleading statement. Evolution by natural selection is a scientific theory and will always remain a theory. It cannot become a law because these are two different things.
What we in common lingo call theory is a hypothesis in scientific lingo.
On topic, evolution has overwhelming evidences in support. Micro level evolution is experienced in lab conditions regularly. Even evolution in animals like lizards have been observed in periods as short as 30 years.

Before you vote, watch some videos at least. Until I took anthropology courses in university I didn't really have any idea what it was about either, although I obviously accepted it. Once I read about it, it made too much fucking sense. The theory is bullet proof.

What you are referring to is why and how does evolution happen and the popular theory today is a greatly modified version of natural selection. Which species evolved from which can also be debated, what changes lies ahead is almost impossible to predict but evolution happens is a fact.

Science always changes as new discoveries are made. That's what is so great about Science, it is not dogmatic.

Evolution by natural selection is the best that humanity has currently come up with, given the available evidence. But there is still plenty left to discover, things that could shake our fundamental understanding of the topic, as has happened countless times throughout history.

Evolution can be clearly observed in the microscopic world, so there is no point denying it. In macroscopic world, there are several missing links between the evolution of species, the emergence of which in between sometimes makes reshape the direction of evolution. But that never disproves evolution in any way, rather reinforces it.
