AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has stirred a controversy with remarks that every child is born a Muslim as he locked horns with right-wing Hindu outfits over their ‘ghar wapsi’ programme.

“Every child is born a Muslim. His parents and society convert him to other religions,” Owaisi said, apparently in a tit-for-tat to hardline Hindu organisations which have been claiming that ancestors of all Indians were Hindus.

“Islam is the real home of all religions. There is no forced conversion in Islam. It is you who need to come home, but we can’t give you money for that,” the Hyderabad MP said on Saturday night on the eve of Eid Milad Un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed. Video footages were carried by TV news channels today.

Owaisi’s statement drew strong reactions from political parties with senior NCP leader and Rajya Sabha member Majeed Memon calling it a “stunt” to get votes.

“It is a stunt by Owaisi for vote-catching. Everybody has the right to follow his religion and convert to other religion if he wants to. What Owaisi has said is not right,” he said.

JD(U) spokesman K C Tyagi described the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader as “Muslim edition” of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and VHP leader Praveen Togadia.

JD(U) Rajya Sabha member Ali Anwar termed the hardliners and Owaisi as “two sides of the same coin who complement each other and find sustenance from each other”.
“Such activities harm the nation,” he said.

As his comments triggered a row, Owaisi said it is a part of his “belief system” that Islam is the real home of all religions.
“It was a public speech. It was a celebration of Prophet Mohammad. I said these things in a 90-minute speech. It is our belief system.

“In a democracy, I have the permission to put forth my views. You are free to disagree. I am not pushing it down somebody’s throat,” he said.

With the rise of Far right Hindus, you'd expect the rise of far right muslims too. This guys a goon. I can't take people properly who are so stuck in the head about their religion, that almost everything is either religion based.

Essentially by electing Modi in power, India has released the kraken by many far right and far left groups, I think India could go two ways, it can ultimately end up being a positive or negative rebirth of India, and I see it heading to the latter.

This might be rather controversial for some people, but I truly believe Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism has as much religious rights to India, as Muslims do to Saudi Arabia.

Lets not forget the numbers of Islamic countries with Far right Muslims leaders, Saudi Arabia (being the most influential), Brunei, Turkey (Also being Influential in it's own right too, and it's covertly far right in my opinion) I would also state the numerous ME countries, such as Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. However let's not be fooled for one second, we too have (in this world) counter countries with excellent political parties that can balance and show us Muslims can live well with other religions, countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.

What I'm trying to get at here, is, I think Muslims should be welcomed into countries but as all Indians say, it's India first than you religion, ethnicity, race etc, when one party with an Ideology (that is not neutral) leads a country, it can often turn fatal. India shouldn't let far left/far right parties win, neither are good, But heck what do I know, according to the India, the largest democracy in the world, far right is the way forward and that's where the see development.

I''m watching modi closely.

Its a bit like Indo-Pak cross border firing , isnt it? Both parties say it was the other who started it.

Most certainly so!

(PS I'm doing homework right now, So I can't answer lengthy *to* questions, otherwise it would throw me off task, thanks for understanding.)

“Every child is born a Muslim. His parents and society convert him to other religions,”

wrong choice of words by owaisi.

every child is born human, some a fool and some self-aware... the fool will accept the wrong choices of his parents... the self-aware will make his own choices.

all mysticism and old rituals must be rejected... this is 2015.
