What's new

Eurofighter Typhoon!

Its a very potent aircraft. If India is able to have that, we would need a d@m good platform to save our @sses from being beaten.

By the way, what could be a response to that? Rafael? any other option?

May be this one
F-15&

Or may be this is an option.

Or stick to this one with hope for advance tech installed and ready.

well every fighter jet in the world not meant to be in IAF my dear friend their is a chance that you can get EFT. EFT is the best Air Superiority fighter jet available in the market

Saudis have an order for 100 EFT with ToT..while Pakistan is gearing up for twin-jet trainers..hmmm..intresting developments

So India has selected EU-Fighter from Germany played a double shot Pakistan Submarine procurement.........???? and bla bla.... but why not Rafale anyhow. its a good fighter but (EF, Rafale, J-10, Saab Greppen looks very similar to each other in design).

Sunny

RF is a good choice but I think F-15 or grippen might match to this criteria.

Rafale F3 is good but its not a perfect match for EFT T3. I think F-15 Silent Eagle with multi-role capabilities is the best option against EFT.

I guess u right about F-15 silent eagle ..is far better than EFT..:coffee:

Firstly, F-15 is in no way near EF in capabilities, even US is not keen on inducting this grandpa of a platform.

Secondly, the unit cost would be USD 100 Million +, which is way out of reach of a cash strapped country such as Pakistan (dependent on US and NATO supplies/assistance to fight war on terror).

Thirdly, Pakistan should look towards China and buy A/Cs in Bulk suiting its pockets to counter India and its capabilities, as technologically Pakistan cannot match India's capabilities, however, maybe-maybe it will be able to match the numbers.

Saab Grippen is as good as the Rafale, Euro fighter, F35/JSF.

Another point why Pakistan should go for the Saab Grippen is that they are much cheaper than the other 3 planes.

You can buy 2 Saab Grippens instead of one Rafale or 3 Saab Grippens instead of one Euro fighter or 3 Saab Grippens instead of one F35.

Unit Cost of SAAB Gripen is somewhere around USD 65 Million+.

I doubt Pakistan can afford a costly aircraft such as Gripen.

(Sale price of F-35 to Israel is USD 95 Million and I doubt u can buy 3 Gripens in that, rest of your calculation is also flawed. Fundamentally Gripen is inferior to EF and RF etc, in all parameters be it Takeoff-Load, Range, Survivability, TOT et al)

Gripen costs between $40–61 million (export price VAT excluded).

Israel always gets US equipment with a huge discount or free. The Netherlands also have ordered the F35 and have calculated that to buy one F35 will cost them in 2010 $130 million dollar. This is a dutch source

Average unit F35/JSF excluding development costs:
In 2002: US$ 69 miljoen
In 2007: US$ 95 miljoen
In 2008: US$ 103 miljoen
In 2009: US$ 112 miljoen
In 2010: US$ 130 miljoen
