Sir, before giving sarcastic remarks about the Pakistani people which is very easy while sitting in a developed western country, try to be in our shoes and see what we are going through. Day by day living here a decent life is getting expensive, so these Pakistanis will go to any corner where they find something cheap.

I'm pretty sure he's being serious.

Studies have shown that as education/ media freedom/ income increase the demand on government accountability does the same. But has that translated into action in Pakistan? Sure the NAB & FIA have arrested PPP politicians, who were unable to flee to the PTI. And likewise the Rangers have gone after MQM. But that still leaves Baluchistan and Punjab off the grid of accountability, not that the PPP/ MQM/ PTI/ Baluchistani Political Parties could create a Coalition to run Islamabad and force an anti-corruption campaign against PML-N.

There's no secret that the economics of Pakistan are messed up. Every industry you look at has deadweight loss. Electricity, Textiles, Agriculture, Mining.

While the taxes, on gas/petrol/ cell phones, are an economically viable choice, any price changed to that good has a less than proportional decrease in demand. If Pakistan wants to increase tax revenue these taxes are the way to go, but to a certain point. In return for the taxes the public demands services; which are piss poor. So in the end Pakistan is still a loser.

So the people are stuck in a bind. Are they willing to have an "Green Spring", modeled after the Arab Spring, where in the short term that will be hardships but the system will only improve. Or 'No Spring' let the train run it's course, albeit off a cliff.

SRLE UAV Maiden Flight


Short Range Long Endurance (SRLE) UAV completed its maiden test flight successfully.

The SRLE UAV named OPTIMUS can stay aloft for 10+ hours for Day/Night operations. Many features such as:

• Latest lightweight composite techniques to enhance structural integrity

Every industry tries to achieve the equilibrium price, where supply equals demand. However looking at the image below, the shift in supply and demand. You can control certain goods/ services/ products ie elastic goods, but the inelastic goods are harder to get the public to decrease their demand for.

Take food, its an inelastic good. Put a tax on it, The demand will only decrease slightly.

Now an inelastic good, lets say

Every economy is controlled. The question is how? Industry naturally wants to be efficient, and that efficiency is gained by the equal equilibrium. The consumer wants the best deal but is willing to sacrifice on not having, say, Pepsi/Coke to drink after every meal if the price for each bottle is $3.

The government has influence over the economy. say the government wants to promote healthy living, they might put a tax on McDonald's and Soda, while they are a part of food it's not necessary for survival, and the consumer will shy away towards say Salad-shops.

Take a look at the price ceiling, that dotted line intersects the price at a certain point, at that point neither the producer or consumer has any equilibrium. The producer might be losing out money because the total costs at the price value are greater than the revenues collected, the consumer is in a bind because they're more demand for that than the supply the producer is willing to make. But this only effects in the short term.

The Pakistani government does have a control on supply. Their lack of willingness to gather courage is holding Pakistan back. The policies sidelining electric supply is the prime example. In the long run the situation should be cleared, but the measure of long run is the question.
