This has to be taken in a holistic view.

1. Oil/gas - cheaper than neighboring countries
2. Electricity - more expensive than neighboring countries (thanks to expensive IPPs)
3. Taxes - reasonably low but are offset by indirect taxes

Politics on energy has to stop. Time to devise a plan to have base price based on world energy prices while anything on top (marketing, refinery, commission, marketing percentage) can be adjusted based on the current scenario.

Its a shame that a certain class in Pakistan gets free fuel, free electricity, free gas and even free food at restaurants. This is stupid and crazy.
Not just this, look at the quota of fuel, a secretary level or director level officer gets, i mean wtf, does he drive to karachi daily or what?
I met a friend in FIA and he told me they dont have to pay any bills, even in their residence, i asked how and he said, well when they send the bills, we go there and ask for audit and records and they all beg us and then they take care of all the bills and prepares a feast, everyone eats n drinks n goes back home. This is how the country is operating and this is not sustainable.

I am a corporate sector employee and my company gives me a fuel card of 150 liter per month along-with company maintained 1300cc car, government has to compete with private sector to retain competent workers, this "free petrol" is part of their pay package, how can you reduce pay package of government sector employees?? Yes, reduce misuse of government pool cars and planes/copters etc.
