Enclosed weapons pod for the JF-17?

@sathya weapons pod concept is introduced by US air giants in F15 & F18 fighter jets and they were assumed 4.5++ stealthy jets, so the same concept can be evolved and implemented as per ones need.

Here I think PAF should redesign JF-17 to 5th gen standards but with out internal weapons bay even if by doing that its cost rise to 40 to 50 Million $, to find cost effective solution to end IAF's quality edge over PAF.

Hi,

The best thing for the JF 17 will be an aesa radar, off bore sight missiles, and a potent BVR for intercept role.

anything beyond that makes it something else not a budget 20mil plane it was pitched for

China-Pak in MoU to develop stealth variant of JF-17 Thunder

why dont they just stick to J-31? what is the point of duplicating and cannibalizing resources of an existing project for another?

add composite material
add more powerful engine... NO add two actually
add internal weapons bay
add AESA radar


well doing all that is basically against the very mission statement and concept of this J-17 plane which was to get a light weight, cost effective force multiplier that would replace our 50 to 70 era relics and be very economical.

Just take the existing JF-17 and optimize it to its stealthiest possibilities based on the existing constraints.
A true 5th generation fighter would come in the form of a PAK variant of the J-31 or FC-31 v2.0.
I know pertinently that an internal weapon bay as well as external weapon pods are possible, but at what cost to the overall mission of the plane? Both options should be studied in the optimization project.
