ECP dismisses disqualification references against Imran, Tareen

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday dismissed disqualification references against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen, Express News reported.

The two references were sent by the National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq seeking disqualification of Khan and Tareen.

Addressing the media, PTI spokesperson Naeemul Haque said, “Following ECP’s ruling, NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq should be disqualified.”

“The speaker’s reference was based on malafide intentions,” he added. Following the commission’s decision, the party has decided to launch a protest against the Sadiq.

Last month, some PML-N lawmakers had submitted two references against PTI chief and the party’s secretary-general to the speaker of the National Assembly after PTI filed references against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last year for his disqualification.

Tareen files review petition against top court’s decree


Rejecting PTI references against the prime minister, the speaker sent references against PTI leaders to the ECP. The case was referred in September last year and the stipulated duration of 90 days for an ECP decision on these references had already expired. Both references are still pending with the ECP.

yours is perfectly innocent, out of virgin indignation?

We have the exact same thing in France with "affairs"
coming out right before elections where very à propos
illegal acts come out to tarnish reputations like Fillon's.
Nevermind that it was a crime 16 years on-going and
that thus any bright-minded person might ask -Why now?

My solution would be to forbid anyone with an active case
against them to enter elections. That way, all the crooked
ones would accuse and disqualify each other and the voter
would have to elect some unassuming common man actually
ready to work for the country.

Decision in favor of Imran Khan yesterday is actually decision AGAINST Imran Khan (ECP rejected disqualification case against IK). IK plea in this case was "No maintainability because of 90 days unavailability". Actually govt set precedent through Election Commission if tomorrow, SC will going to send disqualification through ECP, ECP will do the same and that is the only way Nawaz Sharif will get chit (not clean) but for time being he will get out of this Panama Case...

In short "ye jaan bhoj kar Imran Khan aur JT ko clean chit delaye hay ISWAQT takay kal ko ise ko apnay hak may istemaal karsakay Nawaz sharif"

It wont work for NS family there is big difference between 2 .
1 in these references againest IK and JKT there was nothing new its been on the record before in ECP and FBR they just send it to EC blackmail and to make news .
The other thing is there was no legal council from N side to fight it all they did to delay it again and again so cant extend it further .
2 For sharifs and safder there is new details emerge about theior assets Maryam safder shown household in safder papers and depandent on NS papers its not known before when they submit theior nomination papers 2013 .So they wont get anything like pti got .plus SC gonna decide about theior fate not EC in panama verdict .
