Election commission Ignores Blatant Bribery video & Statements by Ali Gillani & Maryam Nawaz

.
He still didn't have the balls to take these two parties to the task. Hence he will always be the recipient of my abuse. He was a coward at best.

i see him as a bit of a Brutus, a tragic hero. could have done a lot more good, but in the end kept compromising till the enemy won.

This Chief ECP is appointed by PMIk himself

"Political contacts with PML-N, JUI-F

Raja is the son-in-law of Saeed Mehdi, a former principal secretary of Nawaz Sharif. When Sharif's government was ousted in 1999, Mehdi was imprisoned along with him.

According to a report published in The News earlier this month, Raja used to visit PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in prison when he would go there to visit his father in the year 2000.

Credible sources also told the publication that before the government proposed his name for the CEC slot, Raja had established contacts with Nawaz Sharif for support, which was forthcoming.

He also activated his communication channels with JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman, who also approved his name.

The PML-N was then tasked with lobbying other opposition parties for the approval of his name for the position."

Which side forward his name ...Opposition ppp/ pmln or PTi IK...both sides put there names and then this process starts ...as far as I know his name was included in the list from government side ...so opposition didn't put forward his name ...this Mr mehdi is close to IK also ..because his son is being given the post of CDA chairman by current government ...you can correct me if I am wrong ...this is what is known......

So the ECP see's no wrongdoing the way Senate elections were held, despite the damaging video of Gilani offering bribes.

This matter should be taken to SC along with PDM poodle chief election commissioner.

Before going to SC I think PTI needs to challenge it in ECP...one can't go directly SC without having gone though ECP..government so far has not challenged the result and I don't know why they are not challenging it

Thread title updated to more accurately reflect what the Election Commission did.

The same election commission that conducted urgent midnight meetings to review the accusations of rigging in NA-75 and called for a new by-election, has refused to act on videos of Yusuf Raza Gillani's son manipulating the senate election in favor of his father and Maryam Nawaz's statement saying that PTI legislators voted for Yusuf Raza Gillani because they were promised PMLN tickets.
ECP's argument is very valid. It's an independent constitutional body which follows the law. If Government wants change in the way balloting happens, they should amend the constitution and ECP will follow.

Apart from this, maybe ECP should also investigate how current Chairman Senate survived no-confidence motion a couple of years back.
What made the ECP so urgently investigate allegations of rigging by the PMLN in NA-75 yet refuse to act despite a few days of the video of Ali Gillani manipulating the senate vote in favor of his father, Yusuf Raza GIllani?

You do know ECP is a defunct arm of the state.

Who cares for this dining room theater known as 'politics'?

Either give people jobs or let them go to Kashmir.

When the constitution was itself made by feudals, madmen, and corrupt people, I don't think it will ever hold feudals, madmen and corrupt people accountable.

.
as far as I know his name was included in the list from government side
yes it was nominated by PTI and as per unconfirmed reports within PTI his name was not supported or favoured but included due to the lobbing of Azam Khan Principal Secretary of IK.

Why should the country be subjected to this?

There's a power struggle within the party as its chairman is on the way out.

The country does not want to get involved in solving the matrix of hierarchy in PTI.

I think complaints were made, They could (ECP) unilaterally declare Daska election void why no investigation here?
Here we had clear evidence yet they turned the blind eye. I say that the criticism was absolutely valid since it came after attempt were made to record complains, but they were ignored.
I think government showed great character when they respected Supreme court decision. Did they cry foul at that time?? I think not..

Yes ECP is an independent arm/institution of the state ......jobs are difficult without growth and kashmir issue is on the back right now as far it seems ...yes politics is theatre ...infact all these politicians are actors

Yes ..this is what I was saying name nominated by PTI /Ik itself ....no one forced them to have this name

First of all, why would you assume that I am supporting any "thugs"? My loyalty lies with the constitution of Pakistan, as yours should too. Governments come and go, constitution and federation stays.

ECP has followed the law, Supreme Court has given an opinion, which in my view is not binding, if the government thinks ECP has done anything unconstitutional, they can go to SC for contempt of court proceedings.

My point is, the metric should be the same in judging all crisis. When PTI went alongwith PPP and put Sadiq Sanjrani on Senate Chairmanship, PTI supporters celebrated that. When Sadiq Sanjrani survived no-confidence motion, with no clear majority in support, PTI supporters celebrated it. So now today, when Yusuf Raza Gillani wins 5 extra votes, why is there so much cry?

Why didn't the Prime Minister press for open balloting when Sadiq Sanjrani was facing no-confidence motion?

My problem is with hypocrisy. I voted for PTI because the Prime Minister promised he'd never be all else. Now there's no difference between his government and the previous ones.
I think there is a difference, if Imran and his team were empowered, things would start to shape up. The problem is that him and his team was systematically rendered useless by civilian establishment and of course his team also has in large part same people coming from same old political families.
I would suggest he goes out of government and take government once he get fully empowered team elected by pakistani population.
