Islam also say don't divide yourself over petty issues and dont be a source of fun for non muslims that you cannot even agree on moon sighting and everyone declare eid based on his own sighting or not sighting. there is no way to verify the claim of every random guy or mullah

I never bother to go on roof and search moon on sky. I dont know how stupid is committee or those who declare eid before committee..I just follow the institution of government made for this propose.. I don't understand what committee will achieve after lying about moon sighting?

Everyone is following Mullahs...Why cant Mullahs eat their pride and just admit that they will agree to whichever Sect Mullah sees the moon be it on some mountain from which some can see better than those who see in a flat land with clouds!

I once saw the moon from our roof top and our whole neighborhood saw the moon but the committee didnt feel like doing Eid or were momentarily blind and said we didnt see the moon and no Eid 1 more roza....Why? Ask them bastards!

Whenever Eid is celebrated on different days by different groups of Muslims, a natural question comes in mind as to why, in this day and age, with all the scientific advancement, we are celebrating Eid on different days!

For the understanding of members of forum, here is some information on this topic.

Eidul Fitr is celebrated on 1st of Shawwal which is determined in following ways by different Muslim groups:

Option 1: By actual sighting of the new moon with eyes

Option 2: By following Makkah and celebrating Eid on the same day as Makkah

Option 3: By calculation of birth of the new moon (the moon is not actually visible)

Option 4: By calculation of actual sighting of the new moon in perfect conditions

groups who are orthodox, do not believe in calculation and wait till the last day to try to see the moon with eyes.
A small group follows Eid in Makkah and celebrate on the same day as Makkah. Saudi Arabia has its unique method to determine 1st of Shawwal which is many times erroneous.

Thats not true even though the final announcement is indeed made by Mullah-karam. If the moon cant be seen, it isn't seen like certain parts of our country.

Yea why cant they check on few spots- in Peshawar maybe?

I recall 1 time in Pakistan we saw the moon in fact our whole neighbourhood did but the molvi said no Eid....soo either that telescope is broken or the people looking at are partially blind OR they are just too proud to admit they failed to see where it could be seen like a different town?!

Its done, Akheilos, throughout KPK if the argument being made is that. They cant see the moon if there's no moon. Why do you think its called official, there are different committee throughout the country on a district level, providing the information of sighting to central committee. Even in Kohat today, there was aerial firing done after seeing the moon. Last time, the grand Mullah who make the announcement of moon sighting in Peshawar-Populzai was invited by them, to be a part of the whole process, they didn't come.

P.S I have never said that they make no mistake, but they are the most accurate out there and they are official, both of which matter.
