i dont care if china will take all the oil not legall there if it will take the oil price downIt is between China and Philippine.. If the latter accepts China deal to explore for gas and Oil and gives it its share then the International court has nothing to say..
Actually they are for all powers, but not when two countries agree on something, that becomes beyond the law..i dont care if china will take all the oil not legall there if it will take the oil price down
you need to understand international laws are not for super powers

ok when will be unsc about this then we will talk for now this thead not releventThis is not the subject of the thread..
That is not how it works, it is much more complicated.. every nation has the right to a 200 inm of EEZ and if that creates a conflict in distances between two countries, there are other laws to refer to..
"Israel
In 2010, an agreement was signed with Cyprus concerning the limit of territorial waters between Israel and Cyprus at the maritime halfway point, a clarification essential for safeguarding Israel's rights to oil and underwater gas reservoirs. The agreement was signed in Nicosia by Israeli Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau and the Cypriot Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou. The two countries agreed to cooperate in the development of any cross border resources discovered, and to negotiate an agreement on dividing joint resources, however this area is not a true EEZ as described in the UNCLOS."

go to courtThe EEZ really complicates things, but it's necessary to fairly allocate and evenly distribute the shares of these fields that are outside the maritime borders, otherwise looting and wars would be started left and right.
Looking at the map, Samson seems much closer to Egypt. Levithian and Aphrodite might be on the cusp, but distance-wise, it'll be up to the ruling of the EEZ demarcation.
It's also not that easy to retrieve the gas from these fields. The water is very deep and the gas fields are even deeper beneath the ground. The issue of the fields being contaminated with sulfur is another big problem. Much of these might not even be feasible to extract. Either way, Egypt needs to get a move on things.
