Iraqi Special Forces cohorts prepare to receive combat training in Egypt
The Iraqi Ministry of Defence is preparing cohorts of Special Forces to receive combat training in the Egyptian Special Forces School (Sa'ka School in Inshas Alsharqiya) within the next two months according to the Ministry of Defence's media consultant (Nasir Noury Mohammed) in a statement to the Sputnik news agency on the 9th of February.
The news agency hinted that an agreement was reached with the Egyptian Ministry of Defence and all that remains is the preparation of the Special Forces for deployment and an agreement on payment. This should be completed within the next two months.
The Iraqi Defence Minister Khaled Alabaidi had visited Egypt on an official trip with a high level delegation in the month of January 2016. During the visit he discussed the possibilities of Egyptian military backing in the current operations against DAESH in the north and south of Iraq.
